How many passes does he need to throw against Tulane to "qualify" by the end of the year? It would be nice to see his name added in at the end of the season.

needs 14 x 12 = 168 total (at 126 currently)

gotta throw the ball 42 times (which happened only in the first 3 games of the year)

wow, i knew Padron took a lot of sacks but, 18! WOW! better than an interception for sure though. As a reference Bo took 26 sacks his first year and has 11 in his starts this year.

A bunch of those sacks for Padron came out of the Marshall game. In the fourth quarter it seems like Marshall was blitzing on almost every down with 5 and 6 man rushes. Why didn't we have a safety valve to dump a pass off to and take advantage of their blitzes?????
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Better question is probably why didn't he check down to the safety valves that were there. Answer: because he is a freshman who still learning and will do better in the future.

I didn't see the game...just listened to the game on the radio. Are you sure there were safety valves available? I would think JJ would say to Padron "next time they come with a blitz throw it to..." and there would be some receiver designated to be in position to take advantage of the blitz. Other teams do that to us a lot.

Yes in almost every play in the 4th quarter McNeal went into motion pre snap and was floating in the flat.
