He played a couple of plays against UTEP. I would imagine that fumble on the one against Houston has slowed his comeback from his injury.

Just a guess that June wants his most experienced guys on the field to make things easier on Padron. Cole Beasley has played well and I'm sure that's a factor, too. I don't see any reason to force Darius out there when others are playing better. His best days are still coming.

This guy needs to get in the lineup immediately. Johnson would have been the perfect insert against Marshall with all the pressure they were bringing. Instead, we have 3 receivers running 20 yards down field, while Pardon is running for his life.

Johnson is the type of guy you can setup a screen for, run a quick slant, and make some people miss.

I hear this offense is difficult to grasp, but I am not convinced some of the starting receivers are picking up the right reads.

Coaching Staff----if he is healthy, get him out there.

If we don't play him, can we get medical on redshirt?

This was my thought when he initially got hurt. Take the red shirt and let him take the time to learn the offense. I can only assume he no has too much playing time now to red shirt even if his time has been limited to several plays in each game since his return.

DJ will be back for the bowl game.

Everything needs to be in order for him.

We'll be fine Saturday with the group we have.

If you get on the field for one play after the midway point of the season, that is after the 6th game, you cant get a medical hardship. There are other restrictions, but this is the one that applies to Darius. He played against UTEP, so he is not eligible for a hardship year.

Imo, it was a mistake not to medical redshirt him..............

that would violated NCAA redshirting rules since he is healthy enough to play and a physician would have had to verify the status of his medical disability.

It was a mistake not to red shirt him at the start of the season especially with our decent depth at receiver...DJ could have used a year to get physcially stronger

Being physically gifted is only one part of the puzzle. Other parts of the equation include work ethic, academics, teamwork and if you are liked and recruited by the position coach. At some point, the staff sometimes decides that the last part doesn't override the first part and action has to be taken. Hopefully, the young man puts it all together and the "want to" comes out and the potential is reached. Otherwise, you are just hurting the team.
