one of SMU's current coach is a former NFL strength and conditioning coach, if Vic leaves, good opportunity for Jones to move him to SnC coach and bring in another NFL coach to be LB or DL coach.

Also, if I recall, Vic is the only coach on staff not personally selected by Jones. Not that this means anything, but Jones does seem to be one to want his people around him. I do not think Jones wants Vic to leave at all but I would not expect him to do anything special to try and keep him.

You could also infer that since he was the only holdover from the previous staff, Jones must have really seen something.

To see Vic's value, all one needs to do is look at player pics from several years ago to current players under his program. Finally our players are sporting D1 guns. Make it right June!

The improvements might be a results of Bert Hill just as much as Vic

He was hired by Orsini if I remember. There was a lot of discussion as to whether or not he would stay when the other coaches left. I believe he was our only coach for a while. His contract was not under Jones' control.

And please do not read any of this as negative towards Vic. I hope he stays, but it sounds like he is gone to me.

From talking to the guys on the squad, it's Vic.

McKnight is an intimidator as well, but it is Vic that is directing everything and he doesn't miss much. Great system and regimine.

Hate to lose him and take a step backwards. Not saying that would happen, but we have a great asset in place. Do all we can to cement him in.

WE need to keep Mustangs in the Mustang program. That extra effort for the family you can not pay to get from an outsider.
Stay Vic.
