A True Nevada Fan here;

The Silver Strip on the helmets are earned through consistant position domination of the opponents position for each game. As you can see most of the players that have the Silver Stripes are from the Offencive Line for making the Massive holes that has given Nevada 3 1,000 yard rushers.

With 2 of our 1k rushers being out, look for Nevada to turn to Mike Ball who is one of the fastest player on the team and was named the National Player of the week with 5 touchdowns and 184 yards. He also had one of the longest Kick off returns for a touchdown (89 yards) this season in the FBS.

I figured the ones without stripes were that way because a drunk SMU student had jumped a fence, swiped the helmets and peeled off the stripes.
