Another quote from that thread

Former Texas Tech safety Daniel Charbonnet posted this on his Facebook account approximately 15 minutes ago: "People, y'all don't know what's going on. Stop bashing Adam James. He's NOT the person you should be mad at... Now time to get behind Ruff AND THE PLAYERS for this game! Go Tech!!!"

Absolutely. He'd be a really high quality walk-on. No way JJ opens a scholarship for him - just not enough room for a pretty good WR. There's gotta be more to the Leach story than just being sentenced to the equipment room. That was really stupid but not a firing offense. Leach does have a history of public humiliation (like having the player who was skipping class sit in the middle of the practice field at a desk all practice and study).

We don't need any part of this fiasco or the fallout. We can do better. We don't need the James Gang.

If Adam wants to walk on, we should be grateful to have him. All walk ons, as well as scholarship players, should be welcome. This all assumes the rumors about Leach are correct and that James was the player in question.

Is the James kid somehow diminished because he wanted to be a Sand Aggie? Two years or so ago we had an uninspiring program with a floundering coach. Any kid that had talent and ability and the opportunity to play in a major conference has options. James used his. James didn’t ask for a concussion or the treatment he received.

Does JJ burn a scholarship on James? I think not. He would need to sit out a year and at best have a couple of years eligibility. JJ can use that scholarship for a player that has more eligibility and perhaps a quicker impact. And James comes from a program that teaches sound receiver fundmentals and solid work ethics. That is certainly something to welcome.

So much hot air over nothing.

Leach isn't going anywhere unless he decides he has had enough and wants to move on.

It was a mild concussion (how non serious does that sound) and being isolated by the coach isn't that big a deal. It isn't like Leach threw a punch at the kid on national TV. And the kid is the son of a rich previous rival's player. Obviously there is a 'gotcha' ax to grind by the James family.

And this is TTU. This is the university that hired a known bully (that intimidated, threatened and abused people for years) that finally got the ax for being caught on tape choking a player. Leach didn't choke anyone so no real harm.

Bottom-line, the university has to act like it is a big deal. They will 'investigate' only to find that the allegation aren't really so bad. But they need time to make sure an embarrassing video doesn't show up before they exonerate Leach. The key to all this is visual evidence that could really embarrass the University. So long as there is nothing that could be shown on national TV, then Leach is golden.

Between this, the 'fat little girlfriends" incident, the facebook posting incidents, etc. this year, it seems like Leach is losing the team. When that happens you get players exaggerating things like this to try to bring down the coach. Sounds like Leach needs to dismiss half the team, including James, or he's going to get run out eventually.

At the very least Leach is guilty of being a PR idiot. With all the talk of concussions in the news media the last few years, you simply cannot be get caught treating a player questionably when he has a diagnosed concussion, mild or otherwise. He deserves to be disciplined in some fashion, although I don' know that suspending him from his bowl game is warranted.

But firing offense? I don't know, would Mangino have been fired for cussing at players if he hadn't taken his donuts and gone home?
I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize.

Ponyte - i am shocked at your statement - if this was your son and he was locked in a room for 3 hours with no lights and no furniture on two separate occasions you would be livid as you should be and as was the James Family - There is no place in athletics for actions like this - The Tech Administration reacted properly in suspending Leach -

Regardless of the outcome, Adam James is done in Lubbock. SMU does not need AJ here. What coach, in their right mind, would have this kid on their team?

Nothing positive comes out of AJ coming to SMU. I am not saying anything negative about him or his family. I just think AJ needs to make his own way somewhere else.

Keep it positive with no distractions!
