Plays that bothered me

Postby expony18 » Mon Dec 28, 2009 10:56 pm

1. Cole Beasley- looking to cut outside, and getting tackled at the 9
2. ES getting tackled from behind at the 3
3. AR tackled at the 1
4. AR's diving catch at the 30, he could have gone to the house

have we ever had a QB throw 6 TDs in a game?

Robinson looked like he was slightly injured on that lunging catch at the 30 — who knows if he would have reached the end zone.

Mike Romo threw six touchdown passes in 1990 against Vanderbilt

ES running the ball 75 yards from east to west when we rushed 10 on a punt, then getting clocked at the end of it

ES fielding a bouncing punt in a "peter" situation

the only bad thing that happened to SMU in that game was a light mist-not even drizzle-began to fall at halftime thereby causing the hair of SMU's female Cheerleaders to fall a little bit and their uniforms to become moist. Never seen a game where every play, every call, every turnover went SMU's way like that.

Isn't it great that we can sit here and discuss the handful of nitpicks that would've made a perfect 59-3 (or worse) whoopin' of a pretty darn good team in a bowl rather that [deleted] about whether or not we should drop down to Division II. :) Life is good, my friends!

If you are referring to the first pass of the game, the only problem with this play was Al running up the sidelines waving to the fans and celebrating while missing a block that could have led to a touchdown. However, the next play proved this a moot point.

Wow. We went from a 1-11 record to nitpicking a 45-10 bowl victory on national television really, really fast.

I'm with Stallion. That was as perfect a football game as I have seen a team play on a long, long time. The stuff that they could control went SMU's way. The stuff they couldn't control ALSO went SMU's way.

I'm sure June would tell you... running backs or no running backs, Nevada was a much more talented group of players. SMU was the better team. Let's just enjoy it, recruit even higher quality talent, and try to do it again next year.
Stallion doesn't think I'm a stinkin' genius anymore.

The old cooter glomming onto JJ at the end of the game was very hard to watch.

Don't touch the coach.
