so Liggett has a problem with the way CJ chooses to provide for his family, so he runs it up the flagpole on national tv. nice.

Once again...how big a pile of bs are we buying into to latch onto Liggetts version.

Leach wouldve been better off w/ Rusty Hardin

his attorney jumping on National TV means this is much more serious than expected-he may well be on his way out. Several voices on Tech board starting to post that he will be fired.

so just to review...

we have Mike Leach in the role of Bobby Knight, Gerald Myers in the role of Myles Brand, and our very own Craig James in the role of Max Williams

Kevin Sherrington from DMN weighing in on the Leach issue:

The comments are rabid from the Sand Aggie faithful - expect a bomb threat to the DMN soon.

When he gets a hard question, he says, "I'm not the one to answer that..." Trying to whitewash Leach's disciplinary tactics and make its sound like Adam was put in the shed b/c Leach was concerned about him. What an @ss.

As an attorney, I cannot understand why this idiot (Liggett) is on ESPN blabbing a bunch of stupidity and second-hand info. He is saying a bunch of stuff that could come back to bite his client. WOW. Should have just issued an appropriately worded statement on behalf of Leach.

EDIT: Now he just called Craig James a "helicopter dad."

Just asking a legal thing/things? Is it even legal to "lock" anyone in a room? Did AJ have the ability to leave? Stories I have read stated the door was locked. What was the guard for? Was the guard inside or outside the room? Was the guard there to watch AJ's medical condition or to keep him in the room? Was the door able to be unlocked from inside without a key? I know this is football, but is all this stuff legal even in football?

I kow we don't have all the facts, but this sounds so crazy that I thought I would ask.

Look - the second you heard Leach was suspended from the bowl game you knew he will be fired. They are just filling the file for the inevitable wrongful dismissal lawsuit which will follow the firing.

You dont put humpty dumpty back together when you publically humiliate your coach by suspending him from coaching the bowl game. Saying this will blow over is not thinking it through.

Just for the record - stallion is right - the behavior of Leach is bizarre and stupid. Also - it is correct to say the AJ is not a fit for our system so I hope he is not coming our way out of this - we dont need the drama in return for an average receiver. One I hope does well in the future, just not at SMU.

Sorta like Wacker?

(Craig James hadn't a d@mn thing to do with SMUs dp, and Adam isn't to blame for Leach's idiocy.)

I've always been under the impression Wacker was a good man.

Seeing the spin control is priceless. Leach's days are numbered, just waiting for the buyout figures. Wonder how many unnamed others have been shoved in the brig, that will soon be named...

I always liked Wacker too. If James hadn't actually taken money, then I would agree with you. And while I don't know what all happened yet with the situation up at Tech, I can guarentee you the James kid being a huge [deleted]/wuss-puss played some part.

Just got this from a friend who works for CBS News:

Just saw the paperwork filed by Mike Leach's attorney seeking an injunction to allow him to Coach the Alamo Bowl. My prediction: Leach will be on the sidelines come Saturday.

There's a lot about this situation that doesn't "pass the smell test", as a former boss of mine used to say. The timing sucks. IF such things did happen to Adam James, what reason does Craig James and his family have for bringing all this up right now (bowl week) as opposed to after the bowl game itself? IF the James family wanted to get Leach fired, why not wait until AFTER the bowl game has been played? All this does is hurt the players on the Texas Tech team especially the seniors.

Also, Craig James has publicly PRAISED Mike Leach and the Texas Tech Red Raiders football team during his broadcasts. He's also hosted Leach at his Texas ranch. Now he puts the knife in Leach's back?

Word out of San Antonio is that Adam James is there and practicing with the rest of the players. In past incidents of this nature, hasn't the accusing player been temporarily removed from the team pending the outcome of the investigation?

***Just got word that Rivals.com has a story that Adam James filed paperwork at Texas Tech two weeks ago to transfer to an, as yet, unnamed Div. 1 school and was DENIED because he wanted to maintain his eligibility instead of sitting out the required 1 year. If anyone has a Rivals subscription, maybe they can post it.***
