I think Stallion scooped your buddy at CBS news

Sorta like Wacker? (Craig James hadn't a d@mn thing to do with SMUs dp, and Adam isn't to blame for Leach's idiocy.)
I've always been under the impression Wacker was a good man.
Sure, he may have been a good guy. But they were cheating too.

I always liked Wacker too. If James hadn't actually taken money, then I would agree with you. And while I don't know what all happened yet with the situation up at Tech, I can guarentee you the James kid being a huge [deleted]/wuss-puss played some part.
You don't know crap, toady.

Could anyone even have dreamed this up in a bad novel? Throw in the potential Senate run by Craig James and you have quite the mess on your hands.

I'm thinking this looks like more of a "Meat on the Hoof" kind of episode. I suspect that James was not working out as a tight end for Mike Leach and he'd like to get a vacancy to offer that scholarship to a better player. Leach put him probably in some tackling dummy drills where James was essentially the tackling dummy. He gets a concussion. Leach then puts him in a closet to "treat his concussion", then puts him in a smaller closet later on. Leach probably asked him to quit at some point and James probably said "no" which led to the stand off. Again, this is my speculation, I just remember those bad old days when coaches would try to run off players by sheer physical punishment.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

One of the threads in that Tech board somebody linked to said it was a release to SMU.
I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize.

And you believed something you read on a Tech board? Please....
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

I've heard that from numerous sources.
Tech does not grant transfers without the required one year to any Big12 or Texas division 1 school.
I do believe that the transfer was to SMU. <editorial content kept to myself>
Stallion doesn't think I'm a stinkin' genius anymore.

However this turns out it is going to be UGLY. Tech's recruits and their parents must be having serious second thoughts and the team will probably fall into separate camps depending on the kind of experience they have had under Leach. Possible scenario leading up to this:
James is unhappy with playing time. Has laundry list of complaints against Leach. Leach knows it and overreacts. James family asks Myers and Kent Hance for an apology and a release. They agree but Pirate boy refuses. Power struggle between Leach and Myers ensues. Hard feelings from last years contract negotiations which were resolved at last minute by Hance and Pirate boy persist. Myers and Hance drop the hammer. Lawsuit.

Well what I still don't know is if there are any more James kids, or if we have to wait for Adam to sire an heir so we can see what kind of havoc he can wreak. I'd love to see one go to Baylor, it would be like beating a dead horse!

Wikipedia says Craig James and his wife have four children. Their ages are not listed.
