Anything other than a W in that game should be considered a failure IMO. They shouldve beaten them this year, and they definitely should be able to pull out the W @ Ford next season.

In what year.

Did I read somewhere that Tech is looking to back out? or was it A&M? If so, which teams would be possible replacements?

Jones has confirmed publically that A&M maybe trying to get out of at least one game but series doesn't start until 2011. One would have to wonder if the TECH/SMU game in Lubbock next year should be delayed based on the venom flowing from Lubbock toward anything involving SMU.

Has ANY collegiate football game ever been cancelled because of the animosity between the two teams and their fans/alumni? Seriously. I'd like to know.

How many Red River Shootouts between UT & OU would have been cancelled over the years (especially in the 60s/70s) if that were the case?

Yes; NC State and ECU cancelled their long running series after an on field riot after a game. It was years before they played again and they still don't play every year like they did up until that incident.

Stallion has a good point. Might not be wise to have these two meet to open the 2010 season.

I hope they change it, while I like playing Tech. There is no way I am traveling to Lubbock for that game.

The fans are bad enough now the James family has given them another reason to spit their venom on us.

its happened many times. Miami v. Flor. International or whichever team had the riot. My record shows I always want to play these games-I'm just commenting on what I think might happen based on what I am monitoring on the Tech board,

Air Force-Colorado and Maryland-Navy also halted football series, but that was due to the animosity the service academies faced during the Vietnam War.
