Also saw Larry Fedora was interested, which makes sense for him. However, I don't see Tech showing any interest in him.
I fully expect Ruffin to be named HC by the end of the week.
You could be very right but I find it difficult to believe they would hire a person who goes on and on about what a wonderful friend he is with Leach and how he owes everything to him, etc. That might make some fans happy and even a few players, but the powers spent at least a year trying to get rid of Leach and now they hire his best buddy? Just does not add up to me. I see no reason to try and salvage anything of the past. Make a full clean break and start over.

Comes with the territory of being successful again, so we probably better get used to it (not a bad thing). The assistants as stated earlier might be approached at some point in the future as well but we will deal with that as it comes. Go SMU.

And by BTW I have been wanting to say this since I got back from Hawaii. The west Indies I.e Saint John's the US virgins islands blows that island away if your looking for water color, beach, and time of travel.
Is there a bowl there?

I'm more surprised that (1) you admit that you have THAT many Tech friends, and (2) that they all know how to use a modern telephone.

I believe (or at least hope) that all of his assistants are on board with him and his goals. I think they are very loyal to JJ and would not leave without good reason. RE: JJ going to TT- 3 simple words- ain't gonna happen. GO PONIES!!!

I hear there is a problem with warts in St. Johns.

Amen brother- St. Thomas, St. Barts and St. Johns are all very beautiful. Megans bay in St. Thomas is supposed to have the most beautiful water and beach anywhere close to the U.S. Much better than even St. Tropez (if you exlude the 'two-legged' scenery ) GO PONIES!!!

If the team continues to do well some assistants might be offered head coaching jobs or jobs that pay much more money. It happens and I am sure JJ is fine with that.

At Hawaii, JJ had to get used to his coaching staff getting raided by bigger budget teams. JJ's first defensive coordinator at Hawaii (McMackin) was hired to be Texas Tech's defensive coordinator--I think that Texas Tech offered triple his Hawaii salary and JJ told him he couldn't turn down that money. At the time the Hawaii DC job paid just around $60k and considering the cost of living in Hawaii that wasn't much! Boston College hired away JJ's second defensive coordinator at Hawaii. It is sad when a DB coaching spot at BC pays a lot more than a DC job at Hawaii, though I think that Lempa also had family reasons to go to BC. JJ had an awesome OL coach at Hawaii (Cavanaugh) who was hired away by Oregon State...to me that was the biggest loss JJ ever had from his coaching staffs in Hawaii.

I guess Texas Tech would stay away from Franchione now that it is being said Fran did the same thing at A&M that Leach did.
