Hopefully they think they made the wrong choice after a big L on 9-4-10.

Tubervile was unemployed and was not hired by the other BCS schools that had openings so they probably got him pretty cheap.

Supposedly a little over $2M per year for 5 years. Not too cheap.

I have heard of programs bringing in defensive guys like Spurrier did with Stoops to win the National Championship at Florida with successs, but does anyone know of a high-profile offensive team making this kind of a defensive hire and it working? Can a team have it both ways? Will they still throw on 4th and a foot? When that kind of offense is stifled with conservative thinking, the confidence required can go bad fast. I can't wait till we play them. Get your tickets now. It is payback time!

I am all for payback but Tech will be favored by 14...I think we have a very good chance to win, but walking into that shitthole and leaving with a victory will be difficult...

good choice if this is in fact true; if they pay him close to what they were paying Leach, they derail one of Leach's arguments (that his contract was too rich for Tech)

As for questions about the staff, this was taken from the ESPN article:
Tuberville, 55, became a strong candidate when it was determined he would not insist on hiring his own staff, a source told ESPN.com's Maisel. Tuberville also will not cost Tech a contract buyout.

He also said he'd keep the aerial attack in the gameplan. Should be interesting to see if McNeil stays around given his "best friend" was fired and he was passed over for the head job; I'd think he probably would if Tuberville lets him.
Here's to those that wish us well and all the rest can go to hell!!!

Sounds like Tuberville is desperate. Not saying, just that is the perception

Tuberville put up with a lot of business at Auburn including when the whole Bobby Petrino thing came up. He knows how to beat a rival with 6 straight wins over Alabama. He'll do a good job at Texas Tech. But I hope he starts 0-1.

What he does with the offense is going to be very interesting. I hope they move to more of a run based offense, that would be great for us.

If they lose to us, expect a [deleted] storm.

I don't see how they have any continuity going into the game against us. They might click at some point, but with Tuber's style and the Tech offense and mindset, I don't see it happening day one. This might be our best chance in 20 years to beat them, regardless of locale.

ESPN is reporting that Tuberville is intrigued by the spread offense, has been studying it during his time off, and plans to keep the offense relatively in tact. :? Its still going to be interesting to watch.

thread on raiderpower.com: "Tech will contend for the national championship next year"

I'm considering dropping a "go ponies" on each of their threads, but that might come back to haunt us

Tech will contend for the national championship next year.

Until Sept. 4, that is.
