Honestly, I can't wait for the new class. Of course, we have to find a real PG. No more lead guards
“When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.”- Jalen Jones

Agreed with that but at times we were right there for the board and a USM player would come from behind and grab it from in front of us. We were outhustled on the boards, especially at our defensive end.

I don't know, but the entire sequence that occurred leads me to believe that we were.

Nice comeback, freethrows ultimately doomed us, I like the way the team came back though, who knows, maybe Papa was fouled on that rebound.

Tough loss, but I bet the kids bounce back. Lets just grab some wins when we can and make some noise come CUSA tourney time.
Probaly won't happen...BUT...maybe it will!!

and we shot fewer than 15 of them, half as many as vs Memphis. Shows our lack of attack to the basket

what can you say, another missed opportunity. USM was begging to get whipped in the first half. We're not really a young team with several juniors and seniors playing, so its disappointing that they had a letdown after Saturday. Oh well, we'll always have Memphis.

PonyDoh is correct - we need a true PG. these turnovers to assist are killing us.

How is McCoy? - I didn't listen to the 2nd half.

Im gonna guess and say he brought the ball down again which brings it down to the guards level and it gets stripped. He is strong enough, just keep the ball high.

Free throws are all mechanics and conditioning. If the mechanics are bad, the coaches should work the kid until he gets it. If the conditioning is bad, there's a cure for that too. No Division 1 college player should shoot less than 70% on free throws, even those that have difficulty walking and chewing gum. All it takes is hard work and fixing mechanics. Heck even if they have to put it between their legs and throw it up underhanded to get it to drop, that's fine. I give them 30% for nerves. But anything less than 70% for the game is grounds for running until you hurl.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
