I tried them for the first time last night before the bball game. I'll have to admit, they were pretty damn good. Washed them down with a Point burger and a W over Cooger High. Not a bad little Saturday.that's great raplh wrote:if you did not try the poppers, you missed out

We did try the poppers and they were also very good. They are definitely going to be added into the rotation.

1st and Ten has pretty good salsa.
Gristmill has a great Chicken Fried Steak!!!!
In my limited knowledge of the area. Here are my quick reference pick's.
Milo’s = Best Fries
Ozona’s = Best Chicken Casadias & Salsa
Palomar = Worst Service / Best Restroom / Over priced drinks. / Free munchie spread (did I say free?)
First & Ten = Best Burger
Radisson = Best male bartender in a supporting role. / Over priced drinks.

Re: 1st and Ten Wars
As a result of reading 1st and ten wars and all of the various references on ponyfans, I took my entourage there for our pregame meal prior to the Marshall fiasco. I give it two pony-ears UP. Started out with the poppers, obviously. OUTSTANDING. Amongst the group we had point burgers, chicken nachos and a chopped beef sandwich. All were terrific. The fries, onion rings and slaw were great. Beer was cold and coffee was hot. (we're a diverse group) Mockingbird and Abrams is not exactly on my beaten path. The last time I ate in that shopping center was at Pancho's in 1969. I remember that being good, too. Of course, my tastebuds were in their infancy. I look forward to going back often, especially for the televised football "away" games that I am unable to attend. The "regulars" are lucky to have such a fantastic neighborhood hang-out.

Just change the name of the bar to Peruna's First and Ten.
