if it is such a great time of year it would be nice to participate...yet for some reason it feels SMU has never been further away from the big dance then in the Doh era.

Too bad it's not his full-time gig.

His favorite part of March Madness is being able to watch it on the beach each year on spring break. It would suck if he actually had to coach during this time of year. Don't want to screw up his routine.

what a poorly timed tweet ..lol

i'm seriously worried about our coach's lack of judgement. I really don't want to hear from him how great March Madness is when our team just tanked in Mini March Madness last week. Does he say stuff like this to recruits? Say Johnny, March Madness is so great, are you watching UNT, UTEP, or probably more fittingly, UC Santa Barbara right now? Reminds me of the time at Ellis Davis Fieldhouse for a Kimball -HP tournament game and our coach is sitting behind the HP bench yukking it up. This stuff borders on clueless.

would it have been very difficult, or taken much common sense, to just vanish for a month and say you are out "recruiting"?? to make yourself a target with ridiculous comments regarding the non-conference schedule in the newspaper or the greatness or march madness on twitter only opens yourself up to (deserved) criticism. as Hoop Fan said, just another complete lack of judgement...which should be worrisome. and to publicize your TV appearance regarding the big dance only reminds us that you aren't COACHING in the big dance...and haven't for a very, very long time.

Moodymadmen is right, I don't want to hear every year that Doh loves the tournament and will be on a tourney show because we couldn't sniff it. It was cute the first couple years, he should have disappeared. Recruit your [deleted] off and surprise all of us next year.
