Apparently the guy knows where the weight room is.

Ran into him a couple of days ago, and he no longer is the skinny kid SMU signed last year. I asked him how much he has gained since the start of the season, and he said 25 pounds — he's now up to 195.

I hope he has the same speed as before as he was almost as fast as Al Robinson last year.

It's going to be a very interesting Off season for the WR spot. Even though Sanders is the only WR we're losing to Graduation, there are more talented athletes competing for those four starting spots than we've had in forever. Who are the main players in the running at WR?

Cole Beasely
Bradley Haynes
Darius Johnson
Chayse Joubert
Cole Loftin
A'Darius Medford
Aldrick Robinson
Terrance Wilkerson

Then are are the HS WR's that we brought in (I can't remember who's going to be WR, and who's being looked at for Safety)
Ricky Collins
Kyle Guinyard
Keenan Holman
Arthor Londy

Good to hear about Joubert. Our 8th best receiver is probably as good as our 3rd best receiver pre JJ. Maybe some depth at NG someday

Londy will probably grey shirt, Collins is probably headed to Kilgore JC, Medford went ahead and graduated, and Haynes is not used as a wr.

Not so sure about the Collins comment. I'm told he has a good GPA, and is taking his test again — if he gets a good score, he'll be here in the fall. Originally I also thought he was headed to JUCO, but now I believe it's not a done deal yet. Maybe he'll still go the JUCO route, but as of now, that has not yet been determined.

I'll give Collins the benefit of the doubt for now, and Haynes will get every opportunity to grab one of the outside receiver slots. I understand your concern with his speed, but he's Gotten starts in the past and shown flashes. Sure, it's not nearly enough to pencil him in as a starter, but it's definitely more than enough to put him in the pool of applicants.

Anybody know of any academic casualties for the spring, especially among the young guys, who won't be able to participate in spring workouts?

I do not know names, but I believe there are 6 freshmen that cannot participate.

I don't know much about Joubert's hands and route-running, but if he develops, he and Haynes could give the offense a completely different look by having two tall, strong guys who can run on the outside.
