NFL no big deal. Wreck your body for 150 take home for three years. The pay go's quick, the pain last forever.

Bigger better things out there for sharp guys.

Actually I think the league minimum is over $300K per year, and when they negotiate a new CBA (hopefully this year), I imagine it'll go up even more.

I said Take HOME.

If you have ever pulled a paycheck from an employer 150,000 plus. You will know that you are in about a 50% tax bracket with little to no deductions (kid straight out of school). Bust that to 300,000 you’re working about half of the time for the Obama administration.

Not to mention the fact that you want to pay back everyone that has gone in debt for you the last 4 to 5 years with truck payments, insurance, food when the kitchens closed, travel, phone bills, electric bills, someone moved out can you pay the rent bills... Matter of fact give me the bonus check now!

Taxable income at that $310K level puts you in a 33% tax bracket for 2010. Would give you over $200K in take home pay, even with no deductions.

If he has a shot, theres no reason not to play. How many people end up making 300k right out of school? NOBODY. Even if he doesn't play much, the experience and money is easily worth it for a few years.

That is federal income tax only. State income tax (wouldn't apply if he played for the Cowgirls though), Social Security, and Medicare put you well on the way to 50% pretty darn quickly.

I believe that there would also potentially be state income taxes depending on the number of days out of town on road trips if the away site is in a state with state income taxes.

Looks good when you apply for the first coaching job or sales position.

This will probably get it yanked, but election day should be April 16th every single year. Having said that, best of luck to Bryan. Love that kid.
