Please limit complaints to Lotus for revealing the name to another thread and let this thread welcome Mr. Yenga and congratulate the staff on bringing him to SMU.

made the ESPN Inside Texas(a UT site) Texas Top 100 at No. 89-I thought at one time he might have been on an early Lone Star Recruiting Texas Top 100(a Texas site) but if I'm remembering correctly he was dropped down. Unfortunately nobody seems to have videos of him but he got good size for a high school junior(6-1, 194) according to his own site-some list him as 6-2 and very good speed. Offers from SMU and Tulsa

I know...but you never know how some on here might react. 8)

I'm excited that Yenga is going to follow in his brother's footsteps...and I'm even more excited for having a foot in the door at Trinity.

Anyone know how Jonathan compares to Youri when YY was a senior in high school?

My understanding is that Jonathan is about an inch taller, but pretty slim, like Youri was coming out of high school. More importantly, he has played the game longer.

Kevin Aldridge's cousin Quincy from Whitehouse is a Top 50 player in Texas-but I don't sense we are among his top teams.

This doesn't directly answer your question but Youri did come out of nowhere to be the DMN Defensive Player of the Year. I don't think he got much attention from recruiters because he was (and is) a very undersized DE.

Nope — now he's a respectably sized linebacker ... who's going to have a huge year.
