BRYAN McCANN: Cowboy up!

"Good things come to those who wait."

That saying, and a number of others, can be applied to SMU cornerback/kick returner Bryan McCann, who waited through three days of the NFL Draft, hoping (but not necessarily expecting) to hear his name called. He fielded calls from several teams Saturday, and when the last pick was made and he had not been chosen, things really heated up.

Three teams immediately got into a bidding war for McCann, who shared the experience with his parents and cousin. His family and his representatives conferred with McCann, helping him choose which offer to accept.

Minutes after agreeing to sign with the Dallas Cowboys, McCann visited with PonyFans.com to share the emotions of the waiting process, the decision-making process that led him to choose the Cowboys, and when it finally hit him that, starting at next week's mini-camp, he'll be wearing an NFL uniform.

he has speed but never did much in the return game and as a CB he was burned more times than Stallion sitting on the beach in Hawaii

Never did much in the return game? His CAREER average on kickoff returns was over 25 yards per! I'll take that any day from a return guy.

Having got to know Bryan a little bit over the years, I can honestly say, this couldn't have happened to a better guy. McCann had less accolades during his career as a Mustang, I think, because the defense really struggled there for a few years which left the secondary exposed.

After the T.O. debacle, now that McCann's on the Cowboy's roster, I'm going to have to become a fan again. All us PonyFans are wishing Bryan great success on Sundays!
