See Ya.
$240,000? Is that the 4 year or 5 year price and does that include summer school?
the actual amount in not relevant. what matters is that the athlete is blowing off an expensive high quality education and a chance for a good, productive life after the playing days are over.

Sad thing is Jones took care of the over sleeping excuse for not going to class by having morning workouts, but apparently that did not help.

Oh I know the point...just asking because I'm trying to get my head around what I've paid for my SMU education.

I thought it was around $40,000 a year so $200,000 if you are there 5 years. Of course, if it is higher than the amount may approach $240,000.

Dear lord... Thanks. I get a good amount covered by scholarship so I never really realize what I'm paying but I know even paying fees adds up.

I speculate this could open the door for Devon Bailey, the Syracuse graduate transfer and others to go back on scholarship.
No, this would take us over the 25 ship limit per year.

As I have said many times, TCU is our rival, not our enemy. The enemy is the BSC and the NCAA.
Yea, TCU has kids go ineligible. The last high profile case was Robert Henson two years ago who couldn't play in a bowl game. He failed a math class and I don't think he graduated. Now he plays for the Redskins. One big difference, is that you don't hear about these things through Rivals when they happen to TCU. Is anyone concerned that you have stool pidgeons in the administration or team talking about kids grades to Rivals.com?

Its about $52,000 per year all in, and after taxes BTW. I know, I just finished paying. One of the casulties is DB McConnico, as he mentions it in his FB page and is heartbroken but hope he makes it back. I also remember an easy class when I was at SMU, was 'History of Rock and Roll'....aced it. And unfortunatly they can't make it up in Summer School and be eligible in the Fall...NCAA rules say no. As below states from the NCAA/University of Iowa Ruling: http://www.uiowa.edu/~athlss/current%20 ... bility.htm

Yup, Robert Henson plays with the Redskins along with the addition of 2 more Longview Lobos next year. Most of these anemic academics used to go to some easy junior college, or is it middle college now days to make up grades over the summer. I think ND uses that college Rudy went to b4 ND.
May the forth be with us.

"Dont need to recruit kids who cant make it here" is a phrase we need to dump in the trash forever. We need to make sure the kids we need to win - that everyone else can go get - can get through our school and get at least an decent education - and that means invest in some academic advisors.
By the way - it aint over till its over - most of these players will be on the field in fall - trust me.
