SMU to the SEC With Texas A&MOne can only dream
Re: SMU to the SEC With Texas A&MSun Belt
Re: SMU to the SEC With Texas A&M94 Have you ever heard of PMA.
94, please tell me what sports you played and up to what year in school. Just wondering because most coaches teach to focus on "I can" thoughts. Mustang Militia: Fight the good fight"
Re: SMU to the SEC With Texas A&MThat explains it. Go America. Beat England.
I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize.
Re: SMU to the SEC With Texas A&MTCU to the Big 12, perfect fit.
Re: SMU to the SEC With Texas A&Myou sound like the baylor fans. be realistic guys
WEST DIVISION CHAMPS 2010
Re: SMU to the SEC With Texas A&MConsider the following:
1. Stanford of the PAC 10 rejected the Reagan Presidential Library. 2. aTm, home of the Bush 41 Presidential Library, rejected the PAC 10, splitting from century-long rival Texas to do so. 3. SMU is home to the Bush 43 Library. 4. Does the Bush family want Dad's Library at an SEC school and 41's at a Sun Belt School? The family loves sports, so I doubt it. 5. Brother Jeb is the former Governor of FL. 6. Haley Barber, the Gov. of Miss., was a member of the Bush 41 WH Staff. 7. Bobby Jindahl of LA got his start in politics as staff on one of Bush 41's study commissions. 8. Sen. Lamar Alexander, Bush 41's Sec. of Education, is a former Chancellor of the U of Tn. Lamar's political benefactors, the Haslam Family of Knoxville, are the largest single donors to U Tn and to the school's Athletic Program. Patriarch Big Jim Haslam has been on the UT Board for decades (probably appointed or reappointed by Lamar, but I don't remember). 9. Republicans control most of the levers of power in SEC states. 10. SMU and the Dallas market, added to aTm, would give the SEC a major presence in the nation's #1 recruiting territory. 11. Bush 43 plays golf with June Jones and works out in the team's weight room. Will SMU go to the SEC? I don't know, but if the Bush Family engages, the school will have more political muscle behind it than any of the other possibilities. The Bush Family's 16 years in the White House are looking better every day. Flame Away.
Re: SMU to the SEC With Texas A&MIf anything, the SEC will take a state school & probably to the east. I don't think Vandy has enough weight or even cares about helping another private into "their" conference. They're paid to be a doormat & keep quiet. In other words, go sit in your corner & shut up! You're paid to be seen but not heard. If anything, it'll be TAMU (or TX) & no one else in the West. (Pretty good source on that one).
However, it's fun to dream. IRS can't get you for that! ![]() ![]() (Hope I'm wrong but don't think so on this one) BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!
For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.
Re: SMU to the SEC With Texas A&M
12 or 20 depending on how you count it, but not 16. -CoS
Re: SMU to the SEC With Texas A&Mcan you say 0-8 in conference play?
Re: SMU to the SEC With Texas A&M
in 2012 we'd beat Vandy, A&M, Miss State and probably Arkansas for old time sake
Re: SMU to the SEC With Texas A&M
Can you say $20 million in your pocket? ![]() ![]() ![]() SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
Re: SMU to the SEC With Texas A&M
Year 1, sure. Year 4, no way. This is my frustration with SMU, and I am not looking at this through red and blue colored glasses. We could have indeed been Top 25, all the intangibles are there. We p*ssed it away.
