THE NUMBER IS NOW TWELVE. For a conference that used to be the Pac-8, they sure are resisting changing the "10" to "12"

Won't officially be 12 until next year and then they will change the logo. They won't play the Big Televen game. BTW where is "THE GENERAL"?

Seems pretty ridiculous to change the logo for one season only. And I think OC Mustang said that the General decided to focus more on his family, etc.

Looks like a comic book hero's logo or something. How goofy looking.
BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!
For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

Just a complete guess... I think the A has some mountain meaning with the inclusion of mountain state members Colorado and Utah.

It still needs to be determined whether Utah and Colorado football begins in 2011 or 2012.

Utah joins in '11 and Colorado will probably join at the same time as well. The Buffs' paperwork just needs to be finalized. http://collegefootballtalk.nbcsports.co ... ost-sense/

Here is an interesting article about the PAC 10 new commissioner and his future plans including the logo: Led by savvy commissioner Larry Scott, Pac-10 rebrands its image The Pac-10 just unveiled a sleeker, more dynamic logo featuring a wave rolling into a mountain. So designers chose a mountain and wave, which symbolize not only the Pac-10's geographic footprint but also its strength. Mountains can't be moved, except maybe by waves. It didn't hurt that mountains also provide the backdrop at Colorado and Utah, the conference's two newest schools.
Another priority was a mark that could accommodate various hues so schools could customize the logo with their own color schemes. PAC had to pop off the logo, because Scott has ordered his staff to de-emphasize the use of the word "Pacific."
