yea comparing smu football attendance when they've been awful for 20 years to tcu attendance when they've been great for 10 years makes a LOT of sense. most people aren't going to go from complete apathy to really enthusiastic in 1 year. irrelevant.[/quote]

Let's be realistic; you could "trade places" and pit a top 10 SMU team against a west coast program that will travel very few for this game and it would be (especially at the prices I've heard) a sparsely attended game. We small private schools just don't have the same following as the large publics do...and likely never will[/quote]

But CP...in all due respect as i enjoy your posts, normally...so whats the point?....the bottom line is CFN didn't do their homeowrk and don't let some Aggie or friggin Frog dictate the pace here on our board.

who cares what the pace is on a website when everybody knows you are pulling bs out of your [deleted]. Some like to intelligently argue about sports. Here's some facts-SMU never had 16,000 season tickets even in their Pony Express Days. SMU's paid attendance against non-state schools in the 1980s was less-far less-than TCU has right now against out of state schools. TCU averages more than our stadium holds. SMU has never taken half the fans to Ft Worth than TCU is bringing to Ford these days. Now back to all of your inane smack talk which shows how empty all your claims really are. TCU's attendance is extremely good-its a mirage argument designed to put down private schools and one they will make against SMU if we have sustained success.

I don't think you have any idea how season tickets we sold during the pony express days or how many give aways there were. Talk about pulling [Deleted] out of your [deleted]. You also throw in a lot of qualifiers to CYA.

I think you are wrong. I worked in the Sports Information Office during the Pony Express Days

And those figures should confirm to anyone who has followed SMU football since the Cowboys arrived in Dallas that Ford Stadium is a near perfect venue for SMU. I look forward to the day we see "overflow" seating in the south endzone and wonder if we will ever really need to complete the oval.

Yeah well they threatened to burn me in effigy in 2000 when I claimed the reason that SMU was not competitive was because its Athletic Model was not on an even playing field with its natural and traditional rivals. How'd that argument turn out. I post the truth-whether its popular or not - I specifically pointed out that SMU wouldn't have a competitive Model until they admitted low qualifiers(which at that included a minimum 700 SAT), late qualifiers, Jucos, Second semester JUCO graduates (non-qualifiers out of high school), prep school players and Division 1A Transfers. Not only that I proved that each of our FB and BB opponents were admitting these very recruits and beating us with them. Some of you should try to post some semblance of the truth.

Do you think people wanted to "burn you in effigy in 2000", and pie your face a decade later, because you "tell the truth"?

hammer the team he should support, but praise any and all

other teams?
