Is this the same team that I saw Rice beat by 40???? They just beat Tulsa!!!!!!! In Tulsa!!!!!
And looked good doing it, too. Now let's not forget that Tulsa is a bad team this year. But the Ponies played hard from start to finish. I haven't seen a lot of games this year, but based on what I've been able to read, the enthusiasm/fire hasn't always been there -- not the case tonight. They defended, rebounded and chased down loose balls. The Ponies looked like they wanted it more than Tulsa tonight.
Hopkins was very good -- he hit some clutch shots from the outside, and he was really hustling on defense. And Eric Castro seemed to be everywhere. I can't get over how he plays -- he looks like he's moving more slowly than everyone out there, and he doesn't look like he jumps too high, but he must have had nearly a dozen rebounds tonight, and he has a real nice collection of offensive moves in the low post. What a pleasure he is to watch.
And congratulations to Coach Lineburg on his first win!
