I think that TCU has a move of their own...
Not good for us...

This massive expansion is news to the Big East. Not a whisper of this stuff on any of their boards. Also, nothing about this Illuminati pact on the Houston or Memphis boards.
Back off Warchild seriously.

Often, such moves are entirely unexpected. The Pac-10 recently almost added 6 teams, and it was a secret that was very well kept during months of planning. The volume of message board discussion is not an accurate means of gauging conference realignment.

So you're willing to bet on TCU to the Big East? Am I hearing that right? Deep down what do you really think is going to happen to TCU? Think with your head. They ain't going anywhere.

Exactly. Take this BYU stuff...it started taking off yesterday though it was MONTHS in the planning.

Don't be a d!ck, man. Lighten up. TCU has done a lot of things to position themselves well - it's a shame we haven't done the same. If they move up and we don't we only have ourselves to blame.

who knows what will happen, but you better just hope TCU doesnt sneak into the big12. i bet you didnt think Nebraska going B10 was possible either. just saying, everything is up for grabs and tcu is a commodity. Lets hope they are, or else we REALLY arent one given that they have owned us, draw twice the fans, and have achieved a BCS game.

I did not say that. I simply said that message boards are not an accurate means by which one can discern future conference shifts.

So much speculation that TCU has a plan is IMHO total BS.
Patterson desperately needs BYU to stay put or the whole MWC implodes.
Does anyone really believe that the MWC is any closer to AQ status now even with the addition of the Boise JC?
If you can schedule top ranked competition and win resulting in a Top 12 BCS ranking, and no other non-AQ is rated higher than you, then you too are an AQ!
TCU needs BYU a lot more then BYU needs the MWC.
Watch the MWC wringing their hands when Va. Tech puts a pasting on Boise JC in the opening game this year.
Lets just WIN and see what really happens!

That won't happen anytime soon. The B12 north teams are leary about adding more Texas schools and adding a school will only dilute tv revenue distributions to existing B12 members. So the earliest that the B12 is likely to add new members is 2016 when a new television agreement is negotiated.

HB Pony Dad with the thread ownage.
Patterson comes off in that article as someone who knows that TCU needs BYU a hell of a lot more than BYU needs TCU. TCU is now scrambling due to the BYU and MWC confusion. They did not have a plan. They don't have a plan. Its a ruse. There is about a 1 percent chance of TCU getting into a BCS conference and that 1 percent walked out the door when Utah and BYU said bye bye to the MWC. The OVERWHELMING odds are on TCU staying put in the MWC. That is about as simple as it gets. And they know it.

BTW there are also these satelite rumors of UTEP to WAC and Louisiana Tech to CUSA. Don't seem to make sense. But what if these school know that CUSA is about to implode by the reforming of a new conference such as I propose. All of sudden the pieces make more sense. Something bigger could be brewing

Stallion,
If UTEP goes to the WAC then they are officially the worst run athletic department in America. Why would they leave what they have for a DESTROYED WAC? I could see La Tech b/c it makes sense from a regional and travel perspective but I can't see the advantage for UTEP to join a conference that is literally hanging by a thread...and that thread is unraveling by the second.

They wouldn't be moving voluntarily. They would have been told in no uncertain terms that CUSA is imploded and a new conference is being created. Where else would they go if SMU, UH, TCU and UH were part of a new conference. I think these back door discussions are much more frank these days. None of these expansions ever make much sense unless you think 2-3 moves down the line. It might not be happening-but this is a damn smart strategic plan if you assume the Big 12 will not survive. In that scenario the MWC just shot itself in the foot by committing too far west, Stay Central, stay small to prepare for expansion and get rid of the smaller programs like Rice, Tulane, maybe Tulsa and UAB

TCU does not join a BCS conference. They are a small private school and no BCS conference wants them despite their enviable success. TCU and its fans buy their own press at times, but they are not a Texas Tech or A&M or even and Ok. State. Their best bet is to stay in the Mountain West or to join CUSA.
