The question is, will we be able to keep the droves of buyers away from the Box Office when we're 15-1?
“When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.â€- Jalen Jones

UALR was 8-22 last season with an RPI of 301.
Portland State was 13-19 with an RPI of 221.
Lamar 14-18 & an RPI of 292.
UC Riverside was 10-17 with a 255 RPI.
TCU 13-19 with a 189 RPI.
BTW, SMU was 14-17 with a 208 RPI.
Don't forget Wayland Baptist!
Woohoo, another W! 20 wins here we come
I dont care if we play all our non-conference games at home against Huston-Tillotson, I dont see how this team will get even halfway to 20 wins. When I look at this bunch I see a group that cant score, and has no depth. Most of our guards are midgets, there is no real ballhandler, and our incoming freshmen cant get past the NCAA Clearinghouse. You mention in several threads that you like how things are shaping up for 2011, but does it really matter? What if the next coach decides to completely blow up the roster the way that Doherty did? There's no guarantee that anyone currently on the team, or even anyone that we are currently recruiting will still be with us next fall. Even if Doherty is still here, we've seen serious roster turnover every year he's been here, and I wouldnt expect that to change. I really dont understand why people expect this team to somehow be better than last year, when the guy who carried the team on his back in almost every win last season is gone. We've traded Derek Williams, Mo Faye, Paul McCoy and Frank Otis for JFrog and Patsevich. That's not an even swap. I like Patsevich, but he needs to be set up to knock down his shots, and I dont see anyone who can set the table for him. I'm not trying to "hate" on the program, or drive away recruits, but I also cant reconcile the positive spin for this season with what I actually see. I guess you could say I'm a "supposed" fan who's outraged at the continued destruction of our men's basketball program.

First off, all my responses in this thread are TIC. Second, its funny you start posting again on tthe day the Smith news is about to go public. That's sorta hater-ish, although the program just took another crazy hit

I'm going to assume TIC means Tongue In Cheek? Second, it's not funny, and I guess its not completely a coincidence. I knew when they committed that all 3 of thee early signees had issues. I held my tongue for a long time, but then Smith doesnt show up for the beginning of fall classes. I didnt know the news was about to go public, I just heard whispers. In July I had thought Smith was going to make it, but here it was the start of the school year, and he was MIA. Alarm bells went off in my head. A quick rundown of the roster shows we're going to be seriously shorthanded. That's why I made my first post in months, it came out of a sense of anger and frustration, and looking for a few answers. If that's "hater-ish", then I will just have to live with that. Lastly, you edited this post. Ten minutes ago it closed with you proposing a wager on the seasons final record. If you still want to make that bet, I'll accept, 10 wins over/under. You can have the over, and if it's 10 even, that's a wash. Make the stakes something reasonable

Yes, TIC is tongue in cheek. It's definitely not coincidence, but just come out and say you know he's not on campus. I hadn't even checked since summer 2, and it looked pretty good for him. That's big news that effects everyones view of the season. No different than when Vilde was ruled ineligible. We're woefully short up front now, undertalented, and w/o basically any hope of getting a rebound, lol. I'm not betting a dime on that team minus Smith and Vilde. Ive been under the impression Smith was in, and Vilde may win the appeal. W/o those two, its going to be brutal.

I have no confidence that we will exceed 10 wins this year just as I have no confidence that 2011 is "shaping up" to be a good year in terms of recruits. Doh will beat this team down - his coaching staff as well - just as he always does, and then we will have another year of recruiting misfires, just as he always does........
