I had to respond to these agregrious and mostly erroneous statements, I will address these statements in the order that I give a crap about them:

1. I must have missed the day in history class when they described the perfect, color-blind utopia that the state of Texas must have been from the years 1845-1865. Although, every history book that I have read has assured me that during those years all minorities were welcomed into the state with open arms and were even given flowers and cookies upon crossing the state line. Texas definetely did not enter the union as a slave state and most certainly did not take part in any war during those years. Afterwards, it most certainly did not take part in any system of intimidation and segregation based on racial classification. ///sarcasm off/// Your glass house must have foundation problems, because it is in serious danger of crumbling.

2. Ole Miss's african american enrollment is 15%. SMU's is 6%.

3. Where do you get off talking about Ole Miss as an "also ran?" SMU is an also ran in an also ran conference.

4. Ole Miss is renowned for having some of the most beautiful women in the world in attendance. The worst arguments are those that are easily disproven.

5. You won a bunch of championships by cheating in a now defunct conference that was second rate to begin with...congratulations.

6. We are 21-12 in bowls. Including 8 appearances in the Sugar Bowl and 5 in the Cotton Bowl. Recently 3 straight Cotton Bowl wins over Big 12 opponents. SMU is 5-6-1 in bowl games, most notably a 2009 win in the...Hawaii Bowl?? Huh?

7. SMU has finished the season in either the coach's or AP poll 12 times. Ole miss, 26...including 4 times in the last 10 years. SMU's last appearance? 1984.

8. Vaught-Hemingway Stadium holds 60,000, twice that of SMU's Gerald Ford.

9. You have an all-time losing record of 447-482-55. Ole Miss has an all-time winning record of 615-468-35.

I will accept your humble apologies in written form.

I'll grant you that playing the race card was dumb.

We will have a better football team than Ole Miss starting in Y2011. None of the rest of that stuff needs to be debated here.

wait a second, you took all that time to show that Ole Miss has a better football program than SMU? Congratulations!

Remember when Ole Miss was ranked in the Top 10 at the start of 2009 and Jevan Snead was a Heisman candidate? God that was funny.

Ole Miss has a pretty good team right now. And those Mississippi women are not ugly.

So a state school can get more attendance than a small private school, hardly surprising.

Our win/loss record has unduly been distorted by 25 years of post death penalty loosing.

People know Archie and Ely Manning and that is it. SMU has June Jones, Lamar Hunt, Eric Dickerson, Forest Greg, Raymond Berry, Doak Walker, Kyle Rote, and Don Meredith.

I will take SMU women over Mississippi women any day.

Lastly, when you go to SMU you don't spend a day in Mississippi. It must be a hard pill to swallow to hail from the state that occupies the bottom 5 in all the census measuring categories.

PS: I am sure we will be glad to give you back the logo that we took from you, but we will keep the BLVD. We got rid of the horrible Ole Miss uni's and we started winning. Some here would give you back your ex-president, but I happen to be agnostic on the issue.

PPS: We have nothing to apologize for - go away, [deleted].

Speaking of pre death penalty, I went back and looked at the records through 1987 and SMU and Ole Miss are very similar. Ole Miss sports a 56.9% winning percentage and SMU's is 54.6%, both obviously in major conferences.

During that time period, SMU won the only meeting between the schools 52-0. The year was 1929.

We did and lost twice. We lost both by a combined 15 points.

My family moved to Mississippi in 1773. So I am trying to be magnanimous to my toothless cousins.

BIG dif between Ole [deleted] and SMU...takes a drivers lic., a pulse and an 18 on the ACT to get in down there...Oxford is a "cute little town"...cost about $5000 in state and $15,000 out to go there, so there is really no " price tag" prestrige there...kids who can't qualify at SMU / Tulane / TCU / Vandy / Sewanee / Wash U. / Northwestern / Duke / W&L / Geo Tech / Auburn / NC / UVA / etc., etc...go there and huddle together and act like they are "somebody"...what have they done, sports - wise, in the last, say...25 years to brag about.....it is the CLASSIC wann-a-be school.....OLe Miss wishes they were 1/2 the school SMU is....Ole Miss makes me chuckle....
