Often the mascot discussion arises in a football related thread. I am however trying to find any relation to football in this thread and believe that it should be moved to the over the hilltop site.

If we can talk about the band, the cheerleaders, the Boulevard, road trips to football games, etc. on the football board, we can talk about the mascots on the football board.

As far as those who "keep it stirred up," that would be the athletic department who keeps having ceremonies for the new horses which are not mascots (or so they say).
