It's no secret the Texas Tech administration has some big new campaign about sportsmanship because of the problems they have been dealing with out there.http://www.texastech.com/ot/sportsmanship.htmlYour own Police Chief stated: “The shift was busy after the game too with people yelling. We had to march the Aggie band back to the (City Bank) Coliseum, so they would not get trouble from the fans.†http://www.dailytoreador.com/news/fans-act-out-in-a-m-loss-1.2038339Did the Aggie Band "deserve" it too? That they had to have police protection when departing your stadium? Police protection for a visiting band? How classless is that? Your own school newspaper states: " Sportmanship and Spirit Committee is working on ways to promote the Fight Song with students saying the correct words instead of obscene replacement words".Yeah a bunch of classless insecure people taking out their frustration over their place in life out on others...yes even a visiting team's band! You need to look in the mirror and quit using the lame excuse "well everybody does it" or "the other guy deserved it". I have attended college games all over the country & would say in college football Tech fans are some of the worst as far as drunk red necks acting like a-holes to visiting fans.

There are many tailgates where Tech fans invite the visitors. It can be a fun atmosphere if you just know how to get along with others. If you're a visitor, and you're spanking the other team...DON'T TALK TRASH! If you're a visitor, and your team is getting spanked...be considerate, and tell others they have a team they should be proud of, but don't be an [deleted]. Tech fans ARE NOT just going to start throwing things at you, because of the shirt you are wearing. The problems nowdays, are that people don't want take PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY for their own actions. If I went over to your house, and got drunk, and started being an [deleted], you would probably kick mine, or at least kick me out. It's the same way for visiting fans. JUST BE RESPECTFUL, AND KNOW YOU ARE NOT AT YOUR OWN HOUSE!

We have a few whimps posting on this board. Not that there's anything wrong to go through life afraid. Most of them would not go if it were 150 miles and they rolled out the red carpet for you. So stay home . And let the rest of the traveling core enjoy.

Aggies? We are actually talking the AGGIES? Wow, I didn't know I was on Texags. I really couldn't care less about the Aggies. They aren't as innocent as people would like to believe. Did the band deserve anything? I don't know. I wasn't there, and neither were you. You have zero idea what the band members did after that game. You don't know if someone gave the bird to somebody, or what. All I know, is the Aggies are not innocent, and they have had some "transgressions" too. http://www.fanblogs.com/texas_am/006174.phpYou get 50,000+ people in a place, something is BOUND to happen.

Here's why I'm not going and its not because I'm a "whimp".
The past two games out in Lubbock have been two of the three worst fan experiences of my life. And we were getting mudholed! I can only imagine what it will be like if its a close game or God forbid if we win. I'm serious. I'm not going out there ever again to watch a sporting event. Worst fans I've ever encountered.
Back off Warchild seriously.

ABSOLUTELY! Thad and I will be flying out together if he ever finishes his "Final Cut". We didn't even know it is a Friday Night game until last Sunday and realized we'd have missed the game with the original itinerary! I have an excuse though: I'm a USC grad ... Pay Your Fees Get Your Degrees

Are you serious? You sound like one of those people who blame battered women for the abuse. "Well, she must have done something to deserve it."

Please do not come and support your team because of terrible fans. This way even more Tech fans can be in the stadium.
We would hate for anyone's feelings to be hurt while in Lubbock.
BTW 90% of the stuff I read on any board about how terrible Tech fans are is just the same recycled garbage and fabricated lies.
Do we hate the Aggies? Yes. I would even go as far as saying most students boo, cuss and flip them the bird. It is a rivalry game and you aren't supposed to like your rivals. Will Tech fans go out of their way to make you feel welcome during the game? Probably not, if you are respectful and you don't run your mouth for the most part you will be left alone. Will a drunk [deleted] talk [deleted] to you? Perhaps, but unfortunately with 50k+ fans at every game they won't all be Mother Teresa. But, hey you guys are probably right, every single other fan at every other stadium is the picture of perfect behavior.
I have been going to games for years and I have sat in various parts of the stands and I have never seen anything violent happen. I have heard some cussing and seen some vulgar gestures but that is about all.
As for the rest of it about batteries and such just makes me laugh. Do you think in the age we live in where basically everyone has a camera or recorder on their cell phone that people throwing batteries would be able to not be filmed? I mean obviously we do this every game for years so I am shocked that there isn't at least one picture or video of the terrifying battering throwing Tech fans.
LMAO at punching Bob Stoops. I guess all the cameras missed it as well as all the players and the security that escorts the coaches.
In some ways I am almost thankful of our reputation... heck that just means more Tech fans can be there supporting our team and helping them win.
