No. Texas Tech as an academic institution is a joke.
Back off Warchild seriously.

If I punch a Tech fan in the face they will fight off a strong urge to thank me. Sharks have a week just for me. I am Mestengo .

Pardon me while I go write an article for Bleacher Report about how the worst fans in the country are the SMU fans and how daughter was raped on the fifty yards line while the game was on and nobody caught it on camera.

That is the spirit!

Remember guys: Tech fans = The Devil and Lubbock = Desolate Wasteland

Please please please do not come and support your team. Surely, you will be seriously injured or killed!

Stay at home where it is safe and let the Jones be filled to the brim with Tech fans and no other visiting teams fans.

Sorry guys I have to go to Auto Zone to buy 10 car batteries to throw at SMU grandmothers and some brass knuckles to beat up members of the SMU band.

Perhaps your multiple screen names will allow you to establish more than one line of credit.

Everyone needs to chill out. Fans everywhere can be categorized as bad. People get hammered drunk and do stupid stuff, it's ingrained in the college football system.

I highly doubt that Tech fans are going to maliciously come after SMU fans, and if they do grab mylittleponies batteries and hit them square in the face.

There are many tailgates where Tech fans invite the visitors. It can be a fun atmosphere if you just know how to get along with others.

If you're a visitor, and you're spanking the other team...DON'T TALK TRASH!
If you're a visitor, and your team is getting spanked...be considerate, and tell others they have a team they should be proud of, but don't be an [deleted].

Tech fans ARE NOT just going to start throwing things at you, because of the shirt you are wearing.

The problems nowdays, are that people don't want take PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY for their own actions.

If I went over to your house, and got drunk, and started being an [deleted], you would probably kick mine, or at least kick me out.

It's the same way for visiting fans. JUST BE RESPECTFUL, AND KNOW YOU ARE NOT AT YOUR OWN HOUSE!

Dude, it goes both ways. And according to what is being said here, the problem is that many of your fans don't adhere to the "be disrespectful" policy. Sure, there are going to be a few bad apples everywhere you go, but it seems that the trend is there tends to be a few more at Tech home games. No one thinks all the fans are like that, but even the administration thinks it's something that needs to be addressed.

We would hate for anyone's feelings to be hurt while in Lubbock.

BTW 90% of the stuff I read on any board about how terrible Tech fans are is just the same recycled garbage and fabricated lies.

Do we hate the Aggies? Yes. I would even go as far as saying most students boo, cuss and flip them the bird. It is a rivalry game and you aren't supposed to like your rivals. Will Tech fans go out of their way to make you feel welcome during the game? Probably not, if you are respectful and you don't run your mouth for the most part you will be left alone. Will a drunk [deleted] talk [deleted] to you? Perhaps, but unfortunately with 50k+ fans at every game they won't all be Mother Teresa.
But, hey you guys are probably right, every single other fan at every other stadium is the picture of perfect behavior.

I have been going to games for years and I have sat in various parts of the stands and I have never seen anything violent happen. I have heard some cussing and seen some vulgar gestures but that is about all.

As for the rest of it about batteries and such just makes me laugh. Do you think in the age we live in where basically everyone has a camera or recorder on their cell phone that people throwing batteries would be able to not be filmed? I mean obviously we do this every game for years so I am shocked that there isn't at least one picture or video of the terrifying battering throwing Tech fans.

LMAO at punching Bob Stoops. I guess all the cameras missed it as well as all the players and the security that escorts the coaches.

In some ways I am almost thankful of our reputation... heck that just means more Tech fans can be there supporting our team and helping them win.

Thanks for proving our point, [deleted].

Whats the big deal. They are just Tech fans.
They'll yell at you since they are bored.
They won't do anything about it since they are wussies.
End of story.

Just because you chose to pay 2 to 3 times more for your education doesn't make you smarter or more successful.

Oh noes! Tech fans are mean and stupid. That is our stereotype. While yours is one of pampered arrogant trust fund babies.

Seriously, please don't come. However, if you do let everyone know how we threw your three year old daughter down the stairs and sucker punched your kidneys. If you are going to be stupid enough to believe all the terrible things you hear than at least help us out by keeping our reputation going.

If you aren't going to be appalled when we chant raider power during your school song and are polite to those around you I am sure you will have a good time. Lubbock people are friendlier than most others in Texas.

Hopefully the game this year is more competitive than last time. I would like to see our starters play the whole game instead of having our backups run mop up duty.

I wish you guys the best of luck on all of your games except the first one.
