It was much improved...they had a number of police officers around the visitors seats. My only problem was when I went to the tailgate with the "newly" older alumns and supporters and they introduced my wife to something called a "Bloody Maria" that almost made her a casualty by half-time.
Seriously, the alumns, board and Ken Hance are very concerned about Tech's reputation concerning the treatment of visitors and are trying to do anything they can to change it. Chanting during the signing of "Varsity" was second class, which he agreed and was going to address it with the board and hold the cheer leaders responsible. We both noticed that they didn't participate, but they also did absolutely nothing to try to quell it.

Question: What is the rule as to when the band is supposed to stop playing?

Believe when we had the ball, one of the ESPN guys said something about the TCU band should stop playing.

Watching replay this morning, the drummers in their band were playing during our snap count.

Not complaining - we have to win these games regardless.

Just curious - band guys?

The only thing that was said to me was when Music00, RVGpony, Ponyscott and my self walked into the bar next to the stadium to get a Patron shot. We were the ONLY SMU fans in there wearing our colors.

I heard a voice say you got a lot of balls coming in here. I looked over and saw some kid about four foot tall that came up to about my zipper line. I said you got a good look at them don’t you.

April the bar tender at the Overton hated on anyone for being an SMU fan, but it didn’t take long to win her over.

I was sitting at the other end of the bar. Tech fans very cordial. Had several say how impressed they were of the Ponies. They had sighs of relief on their face.

If the band plays from the break of the huddle to the snap of the ball, a penalty may be called if it is deemed to interfere with the offense. Typically, the penalty isn't called unless the coach complains about it (as June Jones did last year in Tulsa with the music they were playing on their PA system).

Overall, the sand ags weren't as bad as I was expecting. There were some bad apples, and the bad were really bad. Really disrespectful during varsity.

A lot of relieved tech fans complimented the ponies and the progress we've made which was cool to hear.

That was a brutal drive home, but glad we brought the whole tailgate kit for a little blvd warmup. We are so lucky to have the boulevard for our pregame. It's just not the same in a Starbucks parking lot.

Thanks again, guys, for hauling your gear out to the desert.

Can't wait to get back to the blvd...watching cars get towed out of a Starbucks lot isn't quite as fun.

Unlike last time, no major problems with the crowd. Lots of middle fingers and profanity, but nothing worth complaining about.

There was one classic incident when a tech fan came to the SMU section to talk trash and show off his girlfriend....who looked old enough to be his mom!

Also, some SMU student behind me attending the game with his tech alum father who seems to have not been to a tech game in quite some time. It was funny listening to him try to claim that it isn't tech students acting classless.
