Birmingham News: UAB hopes to avoid letting loss lingerFrom The Birmingham News:
UAB moves on to SMU after the Blazers opened the season with a loss Steve Irvine -- The Birmingham News The message was sent last September after UAB dropped a turnover-filled game to SMU at Legion Field. Heading into the game, UAB was riding high after quarterback Joe Webb garÂnered national attention for his play in a season-open ing win over Rice. The Blaz ers, a double-digit favorite over SMU, fell into a 28-7 hole at halftime before dropping a 35-33 decision to the Mustangs. The hangover carried over to the next two weeks as the lethargic Blazers lost to Troy and Texas A&M. Re: Birmingham News: UAB hopes to avoid letting loss lingerSounds like the Blazers are going to get smoked to me...
Re: Birmingham News: UAB hopes to avoid letting loss lingerThis article basically says we need to go out and punch them in the mouth at the start of the game. We don't want to let them hang around.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Re: Birmingham News: UAB hopes to avoid letting loss linger
My thoughts exactly. If we go up 14-0 in the 1st quarter, they will quit. "smupony94: Harry, you have been promoted to purveyor of official status capabilities."
Re: Birmingham News: UAB hopes to avoid letting loss lingerThey didn't quit last year. We were up 28-7 and they came back. Of course they had a much more potent offense with Webb and Mitchell QBing for them.
Re: Birmingham News: UAB hopes to avoid letting loss linger
We are at home, and they only have one QB (who can't throw). I expect our offense to come out humming. "smupony94: Harry, you have been promoted to purveyor of official status capabilities."
Re: Birmingham News: UAB hopes to avoid letting loss lingerNow that we've gotten rid of our BM...I mean BLM, I don't expect similar gaffes from our starting QB against UAB at home.
Re: Birmingham News: UAB hopes to avoid letting loss linger
Did you not watch the Tech game? For a majority of the game, it looked just like BLM at QB......... Peruna is my mascot!
Re: Birmingham News: UAB hopes to avoid letting loss lingerIf BLM had thrown 3 interceptions in last week’s game, at least one (and probably 2) would have been run back for TDs. And one would have been a 100+ yard return for a TD.
BLM has a reputation for being a comeback specialist. Against WSU and UAB last year, he was able to engineer comebacks that won a game for WSU and almost won a game for UAB. Padron was facing the best defense he has ever seen. Yes he made mistakes but I would rather he learn against a good TTU than a mediocre CUSA opponent.
Re: Birmingham News: UAB hopes to avoid letting loss lingerEnough on BLM. The kid has moved on. Stop beating a dead... ah... um... Pony.
Let's put some things in perspective. Last week, though really, really frustrating to watch, was a great learning experience for KP. Did he stare down his receivers? Yes. Was he less accurate, even in dump off passes, than he should have been? Yes. Was this his first time in a stadium of 70,000 screaming, hostile fans? Yes. Did he fold? No. The kid kept fighting. That gives me a lot of hope. Remember KP is a Sophomore, not our savior. I know he is the face of the resurgent Mustangs, but he is still a Sophomore with a handful of starts to his name. As long as he keeps taking the steps he needs to take to improve our Mustangs will flourish. Take your Abilify and enjoy the fact that our Mustangs are getting better everyday. Rant over: We have a really good opportunity against UAB. We need to protect the ball and keep our "D" fresh for the entire game. This will let us expose their one dimensional offense and allow our receivers run rampant on their secondary in the second half. Some rise by sin, and some by virtue fall
Re: Birmingham News: UAB hopes to avoid letting loss lingerEvery one’s talking about Offense. The defense is the most improved part of this team. They will beat down UAB.
Re: Birmingham News: UAB hopes to avoid letting loss lingerThe best sign for Saturday Nite would simply be to see the Run and Shoot run the way it was designed. I think in the last 2 years we saw that against WSU in the first half and against Nevada in the Hawaii Bowl. Other than that, we really haven't been running the true Run and Shoot-due mainly to QB inexperience. Spread it around, throw it deep, short, outside and inside to multiple receivers off multiple reads. I believe our QB is capable of doing that at the CUSA Level-interested to see if our receivers can. This offense when it reaches its potential should put up 350+ yards passing per week
"With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris
When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.

Actually, I sat in a cave, in the dark, with fingers in my ears and my eyes shut. We have a football team?
