SMU never wore blue jerseys before the late 60's early 70's. SMU home Uniform was always red helmet, red jersey and white pants after about 1947 before that the pants were a canvas tangold color. The later white pants did not have stripes. The road uniforms were white pants, white jersey with red numbers and red helmets.
