Maybe a new tradition is born
They did that some towards the end of last year, too. Student participation was EXCELLENT tonight. I was at the Longview - Carrollton Newman-Smith playoff game in Corsicana last year during the Tulane game, and don't remember that. If you're a HS coach don't ever schedule Allen at home or the road. 600 member band disrupts your QBs signals like the A$M Aggies at least used to do with the band and core. I think rules prevent that nowdays, but not HS. Especially during critical situations during the last minutes of the 4th. Refs were VERY questionable too, with a tripped into roughing call during Allens winning drive, a bounced and trapped pass during that drive. Offsides caused by the band etc. Penalties were Allen 0-0 Longview 8 - 90. HS teams aren't perfect during the 3rd week. Especially when Allen tackles a reciever 3 yards out of bounds on Longview's final drive, and no penalty called.

You could have heard a pin drop for most of the game.
I appreciate the Picken's gift of the mustangs to the university. But can we PLEASE lose the cowboys? I really do not ever want to see some clown riding a horse waving a cowboy hat on the field ever again in Ford. We are Mustangs, not cowboys.

Just have them off in the corner somewhere. I'm sure its not good for the turf to have the heavy weights run across it

A $5 general admission ticket would be a great place to start.
The casual Dallas sports fan (in this recession) who's not from SMU is not going to pay 18-20 bucks to watch SMU play UAB.

Ditto on the pin dropping. LOVED IT when folks cheered when Peruna ran across the field! LOVED IT when folks boo'ed the cowboys on horseback riding across the field!

This was my first game as an alumni, and I'll say its quite a different experience sitting at the 40 yard line as opposed to standing and cheering in the front row of the student section. Numbers wise it was a pretty crappy performance, but people did cheer/yell.
I just wish more fans would come out, and I fully expect Ford to be rocking for TCU in 2 weeks after we slam WASHie state.

First University to have a manatee riding a horse across a football field.

Unfortunately, 3/4 of those in attendance at that game will be Froggie fans.

Agreed. It should be much easier to purchase a ticket...it sucks if heaven forbid you need an extra ticket or two for kids that show up with yours..Takes forever and am certain some just give up or go away.

Maybe we could rent some from NTSU. They blew us away on attendance.

The horses were leaving tons of steaming [deleted] on the field as well. Can't be sanitary for the players.

Really thought it might be different this year but yet again it was the same ol same ol. Feel really bad for the team, coaches, Orsini and crew that with all their hard work and success, the attendance is the same pathetic display. Thanks to all that attended last night, lets bring more next week.
