Re: Where has the Run and Shoot Gone?I think we maybe need to shrink the playbook again for the next couple of weeks...
Padron looks like he is thinking way to much...His arm also looks weaker than I thought...which could be a confidence issue as well...
Re: Where has the Run and Shoot Gone?agreed.
good thing Zach is feeling it....and, Wash St is next.
Re: Where has the Run and Shoot Gone?I focused on the WRs all nite-there is a problem not only getting off the line but failing to work hard after the original route. I suspected that was the case at Texas Tech too

Re: Where has the Run and Shoot Gone?
yeah, I saw when you said that earlier. first, I'm really jealous (trapped in channelsurfing), and second, I trust your eyes. the glimpses I got from the broadcast gave me the feeling that they may not be as physical or proficient as we would hope (man, really miss Emmanuel). maybe, that's affecting the processing time for KP? hopefully, they'll all grow as the season progresses.
Re: Where has the Run and Shoot Gone?ALdrick is not ES...I don't want to call him a dog, but....
DJ will be a player but needs to be more consistent.... Haynes is taking cues from aldrick... Beasily works very hard...
Re: Where has the Run and Shoot Gone?Sanders worked his [deleted] off trying to find space and he had a live body and could change direction on a dime. I've seen Darius do the same thing in multiple highlites from high school. He needs to keep working hard until the whistle because that's where the big plays will come

Re: Where has the Run and Shoot Gone?
This.
Re: Where has the Run and Shoot Gone?Unfortunately, Haynes was completely invisible the whole game. Disappointing after his good game at Tech.

Re: Where has the Run and Shoot Gone?they need to consistently beat press coverage and finish. the option and choice routes all need work. guys needs to get over the gitters, hit the skeleton drills, work with the jugs after practice. Padron needs to place the ball better: through the ear, correct shoulder, with more spin. He isn't setting up efficiently. He is seeing the field better than he thinks he does. growing pains, again.

Re: Where has the Run and Shoot Gone?
I remarked that this might be a problem. Expanding too much too soon thinking he had it all under control. All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
Re: Where has the Run and Shoot Gone?Shrinking the playbook might not be a bad idea.
We should be fine against Wazzu, but we will not fare well against TCU if our passing woes continue. ![]()
Re: Where has the Run and Shoot Gone?
might have something to do with wrs not making grades
Re: Where has the Run and Shoot Gone?last week Kp was simply off
recall the wide open wr he underthrew for an int. And at least 3 swing passes he over lead the wr This week seemed better but he did underlead dj on wheel route that cost a fd opp point is qb play more at fault tech, but bad wr execution at fault this game. Dropped balls etc I watched on the al gore channel so I didn't see but certainly accept stallions observations I too be concerned with passing game Then again, do what the d gives you, and likely both games the planned against our best wr probably joking about out white fb rb
Re: Where has the Run and Shoot Gone?
Ya think? Maybe you should help him.
Re: Where has the Run and Shoot Gone? When I was paying attention, UAB was only rushing three and making Padron try to find an open receiver. That's actually more difficult for the QB in this kind of offense than blitzing him. Makes him think and read, rather than simply hit the hot route.
BTW: You all do know that Eric Schumann is UAB's defensive coordinator, don't you? That guy knows a thing or two about a thing or two. He's the only DC we've ever had who could teach our guys to stop the option. I bet that rascal knows how to slow down a Run and Shoot, too.
