REAL Mustang Logo or the Fake one.

Take a look at the logo used on some items.
The main and tail (not the shampoo) is noticable thicker and bot the original.

The horse looks short and slow as conpared to the original.

Also notice the ear position.

If I am going to by a SMU product, I want the REAL Mustang Logo.

The ponyfan logo is original to this site and not SMU's.

I know the school has been working to reign in (ha!) the unauthorized logo - but, in typical SMU fashion, they do still have some merchandise with the wrong logo in the SMU bookstore.

Most of the merchandise available is correct now thankfully.

They're not working too hard to reign in the Phony Pony. It's the logo on my parking pass.

BTW, I went to the Rally House Texas shop at Preston and Park the other day. They do have some SMU stuff, not nearly as much as UT, TAMU and TT stuff, but proportional to our fan base. And, thankfully, most of their SMU stuff has the correct pony. Somebody's getting the message. Since it's a new store, it's mostly new merchandise, so credit should go to SMU for that. I doubt the Rally House Texas buyer knows the difference (but the SMU Bookstore manager should...)

There's always going to be merchandise out there that has the Phony Pony. A lot of it's either old inventory or from manufacturers too lazy to update the logo. But there's no excuse for the Phony Pony on a new item, such as a season parking pass, football uniform pants, Crum Center...

as much as I credit Longtime for policing Phony Pony offenders, I think it just as criminal to see crap with the old logo. You know the one, with a white background and SMU above the Mustang and Mustangs below, all in what looks like Arial font italicized

According to this the left side of our helmets are all wrong. We should go a la Steelers with the logo only on one side.

Every time this issue comes up some smartypants points out that the logo runs to the left on one side of our football helmets.
