please call the university and let them know you are willing to write a check for land and a building.
On the contrary, I responded to exactly what you posted to the point that I directly quoted you. What are you disagreeing with specifically? I can only know what you intend to say by what you write, not by what you think you are writing. I find it humorous that you previously made a number of statements regarding how donors should spend their money, but when I point out the fallacies in your plan you respond with bitterness and claim that I must pay for it alone. If you are going to make posts in which you claim funds should be raised for certain projects before others, that is something I can respect. If, however, you claim that only you have the authority to comment on a message board about where SMU's athletic fund raising is best directed and that those that disagree with you must produce the very millions of dollars that you do not command, that is simple hypocrisy. By your own belief that I can only comment about a practice facility if I am capable of affording the entire project, so should you hold yourself to the same standards by which you hold others.

Regarding the Master Plan map a few pages back - Does anyone know what the long range gray buildings are South of University Blvd and East of Airline Road? It looks like a pretty large quad. Also the two long buildings on SMU Blvd?
I think it's a new Fraternity Quad.
correct, notice that in the plan that the Sigma Chi house does not exist in it's current location and that there will be 2 buildings where the 6 from Phi Delt down to KA now exist.

I'm not going to bore others in a back and forth and never said "funds should be raised for certain projects before others" -- this is a misread or lack of clarity on my part. people can read what I wrote (below and other posts) and read yours. bottom line we are both for the same team and wish whatever is best to help that cause. My statement: No other option will be better financially than negotiating a workable agreement with HP. The money saved can be utilized to enhance something else like Moody. Now any monies HP receives might be redistributed via Robin Hood --------------------

Re-posting your thoughts is not the same thing as backing up your opinion or responding to my assertion that your position makes no sense. I have already pointed out how several of your points make no sense, so this time I will focus on one that I did not discuss earlier. Money can be redistributed via Robin Hood? You believe that Highland Park is so concerned about the welfare of poor schools that it would unnecessarily lease its facilities to others? Highland Park has suffered tremendous losses due to Robin Hood, and to imagine that the school district would be anxious to give its money away is absurd. Highland Park would be more likely to starve other schools into bankruptcy given the opportunity. Post it again. It will not make your proposal any less ridiculous.
not sure what you are reading, I didn't say any of this...... "You believe that Highland Park is so concerned about the welfare of poor schools that it would unnecessarily lease its facilities to others? Highland Park has suffered tremendous losses due to Robin Hood, and to imagine that the school district would be anxious to give its money away is absurd. Highland Park would be more likely to starve other schools into bankruptcy given the opportunity." My statement: No other option will be better FINANCIALLY than negotiating a WORKABLE agreement with HP. The money saved can be utilized to enhance something else LIKE Moody. Now any monies HP receives MIGHT be redistributed via Robin Hood

Question: Do I remember correctly that there is a height limit on any building on Mockingbird? Isn't that why the field at Ford was sunken and the Mockingbird end zone left open?

It does not need to be higher than Ford is.

Thanks for responding. I see the buildings that look like the moved fraternity houses but I also see 3 buildings in that quad that appear to be larger than fraternity houses and are flanking a fountain – appear to be shaped like the new buildings across Airline. Those are the ones I was curious about in addition to the use of the 2 new buildings on SMU Blvd. I was just curious was else the school needed. We have the new administration building so I was wondering if this is all just housing or if we are expanding our curriculum or if the school is missing something I am not considering. Thanks.

True, but is there a setback for the height? I may be totally wrong, but I remember a height restriction coming up before.

Welcome to the club. For reasons I don't understand Samauri over reacted to my posts last week, reading intent into straight forward opinions. I think he enjoys conflict.

2 things. For those that say that requiring sophomores to live on campus will hurt admissions, you have not seen the modern dorm room or what these dorms are going to look like-far more akin to apartments than anything else.
Second, looking at the space on that map where these dorms are going to go, I can only conclude that (i) those buildings are not all dorms; or (ii) if they are all dorms, then some existing dorms are going to be repurposed for something else.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I seem to remember no higher than 3 stories and variance was required for club boxes. Hence having to dig down for the field

I believe someone stated that Ford Stadium has a little height variance and that, for the stadium, the height of hte stadium is the max building height, but setback isn't an issue. Apparently we can complete the bowl and can deck the non-pressbox areas without going over the pressbox limit.
