Let's see what happens after a full week with no travel and with a film session. I really think that film session that was missed last week is important.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Longtime wrote: BTW: You all do know that Eric Schumann is UAB's defensive coordinator, don't you? That guy knows a thing or two about a thing or two. He's the only DC we've ever had who could teach our guys to stop the option. I bet that rascal knows how to slow down a Run and Shoot, too.

He did pretty well with the Shoot part... Run not so much

I like this offense. I like this offense even more when they are mixing run and pass. We had a giant TOP advantage through most of the game. It was hot and humid on Saturday night. Moving the ball effectively and chewing up some clock really helps us win games. In the second half UAB's linebackers wanted nothing to do with Zach Line.

Think KP may be a bit more dinged-up than is thought...that AND receivers not making read adjustments during the route. Thank goodness for Zack.

Agree that passing game still a work in progress- as Padron and wideouts get more experience and internalize the reads we will be better. What's encouraging is that we are having some success moving the ball anyway.

I don't think we can assign blame to entirely to the WR's or the QB, some plays people are open and the pass isn't there sometimes no one gets open. Both need to improve before TCU

coming out of the MC Lunch, June pointed out that many receivers were wide open for big plays and TD's. Kyle got spooked or didn't read correctly. Let's hope he continues to develop and hit those big plays. It takes the WR AND the QB to make reads/routes.

Seems like we haven't even tried to go deep more than a couple times. Do you think this is playcalling or WRs just not getting open? Hard to believe AR couldn't blaze past some of the UAB defenders once or twice last game.

So what you are saying is we need to get Kyle's long balls into Aldricks hands.

A full practice week without a tropical storm will help them iron that out.

Could the problem be no competition at the receiver position? Coaching? June has shown in the first two years that the starters will play the entire game(except a couple of games) even if hobbled during the game by injury, broken bones, heat or exhaustion rather than put in a sub. Example: Beasley was hurt for a few plays early in the first series but stayed in th game limping and later dropped a third down pass to keep the drive going. Tough....or does it hurt the team? I would think they would want guys who play hard, practice hard and have a good attitude. Just a different kinda coach compared to most but how do you argue with his track record and last years turnaround? I think it would help if we had a coach who was a great receiver in the pros and/or college or who had coached receivers at the D1 level. The defenses and DB's are getting so good that you better keep one step ahead or you might just as well put in the wishbone.

Regardless of the reason why it's happening.. the fact that Kyle is running with some success might end up helping him.

As JJ said in his pc, if they're in Man coverage and he's feeling pressure.. the field is open for him to run. If they drop back in Zone against the R&S.. it could open things up for the WRs to find space.

Just a thought..

During Schumann's time here, we got lit up a couple of times by Hawaii. I think we won the '98 version of the run and shoot, but that was with 3 , then current or future, all conference d-backs Tracy Hart, Jacoby Reinhart and Donald Mitchell. Not saying our guys now are slouches by any means, but that was a pretty formidable safety net.
