I think you know that I have been a Tubbs fan since his Kimball days.
I think he could do well here. Would you favor us with your analysis

I feel its really a very typical gamble on SMU's part to hire either one-but that's to be expected considering what the SMU job has to offer. All things being equal-go with the guy who can recruit in your own back-yard especially when you're own back yard is one of the hottest recruiting areas in the country. That is an unquestionable point based on the recruits out of DFW in the last 10 years. I don't see SMU having long-term sustained success, considering the limitations placed on the athletic department, if it attempts to recruit in New York, Illinois, Florida Georgia and across the country. Remember SMU doesn't have the national visibility it once had and Texas has 5 times better recruits today then back in the "good ole days". The one way I see SMU maybe having that kind of sustained success is if a Tubbs hits on a couple of studs and SMU became the hip, cool choice among local kids. We kinda had that with Sasser, Davis, Elsey and the Q. It should be noted that BB recruits are a tighter group that FB recruits because the best of the best often play with and against each other on AAU teams, NIKE camps and what are they called BCI?(Basketball Congress) all star teams. We had all hoped the same thing would have with Bryan Hopkins but it appears Tubbs was no longer there to get it done. If I'm going to gamble on someone give me Tubbs. I also would like FOR ONCE in my life to quit talking about reaching out to the DFW community at large and actually do something like hire TUBBs which could make a difference. (Did I just agree with Diamond M. That also was one of the main reasons I supported Charlie Waters.
