I was thinking it might have been because of the Hawaiian singer Willie K singing the National Anthem (which was pretty good, by the way). But yeah, he's worn one a few times.

He's just like all guys: he's not going to turn down a lei, especially if it's free.

It was Willie K (who by the way did a nice job with the NA)

Willie K did the best National Anthem I have heard at a football game. Nailed it. Concerned for a while that it might be the highlight of the game.
Fine with JJ wearing the lei and not wearing socks. JJ can do what he wants, Just glad he is doing it at SMU.

good job Willie K. He's in the top 5 national anthems I've heard, somewhere after Meat Loaf but ahead of Celina Rae.

Going to HOB next Saturday to see Kapono. Looking forward to it.

I don't care if he wears the lei, it kind of reminds me of being back in Hawaii. Remember Hawaii? The sight of one of the largest lopsided wins by the Mustang's in 25 years! Let's see.....what was that score ArkPony? Oh yeah, 45-10!!! 'Nuff said, keep the lei June.

Some of June's friends were in from Hawaii, 5-6 of them I think, and they always bring fresh leis with them. They stopped by our tent on the Blvd. pre-game.

We were commenting on the lei, too. Someone asked if we thought anyone had the courage to tell him it looked a little out of place.........but, hey, if it helps us win I hope he wears one every week! Not trying to start anything but I'd rather see JJ wear a lei than those 2 other sideline standers!
