For what it's worth, Champ Bailey is listed at 6-0, 192.

Charleston Pony is right — it takes extended winning. In his postgame press conference, Coach Jones said as much, saying SMU is battling "a lost generation" and that extended winning is needed to bring the city out to see the team.

SMU has had like 1 great tall CB in my life-Russell Carter. There ain't enough to go around. The 5-8 guys though are a disadvantage

I question whether a few are really even 5"8...Bennie Thomas III is really, really small....some of these measurements may be pumped up.
The WR's in FB are all getting bigger and we just need to catch up on both sides of the ball .....we will I'm sure, but until we do....

I know he got burned yesterday, but isn't freshman CB Chris Parks pretty tall?
I have high hopes he will turn into a real player for us down the road.

Team is in serious trouble at corner. Thomas #31was burned time and again giving up a TD, several long passes and missing tackles. WSU had a total size mismatch against Thomas all day and failed to fully exploit it especially on one 2d half red zone series. Thank heaven WSU is not particularly well coached and missed key opportunities to go in his direction. Thomas is there for exploitation if he is in the game. I am sure TCU coaches are salivating at all possibilities that they can throw his way. We simply do not stand any chance to beat TCU with him in the game. He is simply too short, generally does not know the whereabouts of the ball and frequently got turned around. Do not mean to pick on the kid, but he is not ready to handle the position.

Kerley might just light us up; we'll have to put together our best offensive showing of the season to be competitive this week

The thread name "Humiliating" is overly harsh. I am going to be the voice of reason and add a little perspective.

We have all sat in Ownby/Ford and cheered really, really bad football teams. We are in year three of the Jones Turnaround Plan. Year one was 1-11. Look how far we have come since then. What happened this week! Our kids went into a game they were heavily over favored in and won (the ridiculous spread has more to do with Wazoo fans giving up on Wulf than our beauty). It wasn't pretty, but it was a win. A couple of years ago Phil Bennett would have given a kidney to get a win against a BCS School. This is humiliating? Come on Man! Every year our recruiting classes are getting better (When was the last time SMU had a top 50 recruiting class?). The mental outlook for the kids is getting better (When it gets ugly they no longer fold. They are no longer waiting for the other shoe to drop).

The Administration made it impossible for DECADES, yes DECADES, to have a competitive team. You cannot realistically expect fans to start knocking down our door to jump on the bandwagon. All they know is that now we are respectable, compared to a laughing stock. I agree they need to find another Bill Veck (he can skip the Disco @#$%s night).

Next time anybody thinks about complaing about a win - think back 4 years. We already have more wins than Bennett had in his last year or JJ had in his first.

I love Ponyfans passion, but let's also have a little perspective.

With the Cowboys floundering, now is the time to act and get Dallas area people out to support a winning, exciting team in SMU. Mke it Dallas team not just SMU's. Invite all to the blvd to see how special college gameday is, win or lose. Very inexpensive and fun for the kids.
