First trip to the boulevardHey everybody. I'm a potential student applying for start in the Fall of 11. I just got my tickets to my first SMU game. I'll be coming into town early Friday afternoon and looking for a major upset. Any tips on boulevarding or other pre-game activities? Can't wait to be there!
Re: First trip to the boulevardjust soak it all in. it's going to be a great atmosphere.
and welcome to the board! Derail the Frogs!
Re: First trip to the boulevardCall a current student and hook up with them.
Sure, you can enjoy the hospitality of numerous alums and fans along the Blvd. But face it, we are old goats that will not be part of the day to day SMU experience. It would be so much more enjoyable to experience what current students. If you need a contact, PM me. And bring some friends. If they can't get into the stadium, there is a chance they can watch the game on the Vard at some one's tent. I have yet to meet a Vard occupant that didn't welcome guests. And SMU is a wonderful school and I am thrilled that you are considering going there.
Re: First trip to the boulevard
Thanks for the tip. For some more info, I am bringing my fiance and a friend and his wife, so I definitely won't be wandering around alone. I'm applying to the law school and I know they have their own area so I'm planning on hanging out there some. Hope to see some of you there. Pony up!

Welcome and glad you are now a Mustang!
Re: First trip to the boulevardBlvd. usually gets hopping about 2 hrs. before kickoff, though there are good amount of people out there before then.
An hour before is critical mass. People everywhere. Law School tent is by the flagpole on the top of the Blvd. Definitely take the time to walk down Bishop towards Mockingbird and check everything out. It is a great scene and it will be fantastic on Friday. ![]()
Re: First trip to the boulevardAhhh, the Law library brings back memories. That is where I studied as an undergrad. Differently hook up with the law school Vard participants. And glad you are considering the SMU school of Law.
