Sterling's a tough kid. but, the last thing he needs is worsening of his injury, I think.

good for him -- at least he's surviving. seems prolific and competent; and, we benefit from better coverage, it seems.

He's good. Covered the Bliss mess down at Baylor. We lost a bunch of solid reporters to cuts in recent years. I'm always happy to see them getting back in print.

we have academic casualties in the secondary?

I thought I remembered two kids who committed via juco and/or transfer but didn't make grades. Wasn't it Kevion Gamble and another?

And then losing McConico to injury the same game as Moore.

If we don't have a productive Sterling Moore we need to pray for a bunch of turnovers or it is going to get ugly.

Watching the replay of the WSU game yesterday they had all sorts of near-misses that could have been big yardage that just wasn't placed quite right due to our pass rush. I don't think we'll get the same pass rush on TCU.

oh yeah, that sounds familiar. although, I seem to recall that those were incoming freshman non-qualifiers that went the jc route -- perhaps available next year?
and, as I understand it, Crawford and Sorrell (both JC transfers) were brought in as sort of stop-gap immediate help. hope they keep growing into their roles.

Crawford has been getting better. He's always been right there with the receivers, but now he's starting to get his head turned around and get his hand up to tip the ball.

But yeah, if we don't have Sterling, it'll be a long night. But agree with what you guys are saying, I'd rather be cautious and maybe sit him this week and improve the chances that we'll have him the rest of the season.

I do not want to think about us not having Sterling tomorrow night. Our DBs will get destroyed, especially in the red zone.

so who actually gets assigned to Kerley if Sterling is a no go? I hate to hinge the success of our secondary on one guy, but he really is that good (Moore and Kerley both).

The DMN has done a little shuffling of the sports staff because one writer had a medical issue (which is now improving), so Kate has taken on some other roles and Jeff is filling in for Kate. She'll be back soon.

I don't think they'll get 'destroyed'. they may be schooled a bit. at the very least, they'll all learn from the experience. I know.....in my gut, I want them to shut down TCU, too, but we're not where we're gonna be in a couple of years, yet.
and, Big Hoss is right -- Crawford got better as the game went on. you can see that he has skills to stay with his man. he just needs to keep the ball from getting into the other guy's hands (with all that technique stuff), though I did love that nice pass break-up that he had.

when Kate gets back, does that mean that Jeff will disappear? I love Kate, but Jeff sure seems a bit more prolific in his coverage.
hope that other writer is back to full health.
