If so, BU must be trying to rig the system to try to get to the almighty six win total. Who'll want season tickets when you can just pick up the Big 12 good schools as singles. Only UT or A&M sells out anyway.
Not sure about that, but the NCAA is trying to develop a contingency plan for what to do when there aren't enough bowl eligible teams to fill all of the bowls. I could see that being part of it. Guessing the Baylor move has more to do with the 9-game vs the 8-game conference schedule. They do get an annual game with Iowa State now though....

Real simple...we get with TCU and agree to "blackball" Baylor in both the MWC and Conference USA when UT bails on the Bears and leaves them with the rest of the Big 12 have nots. Good Luck to Baylor with NTU in the Sunbelt.

Baylor drops SMU but keeps Stephen F Austin. Is there a more butt-sore college in the country? Did you see Baylor wet their pants against TCU? Did you read that crap RGIII said after the game? That's a Big 12 team? SMU would kill Baylor next year and they know it. Baylor is so desperate for a six win season they will schedule schools for the blind. eF BAylor. SMU should schedule LaTech - at least they would put up a fight. You watch, Rice is going to blow Baylor out - that team is quitting on Briles and RGIII.

And who in that category is willing to sign a home-and-home deal with SMU?

Unless they pay some heavy jack for canceling the Dallas date, we should cancel at Waco. No reason to go there unless they come here. I am sure that any competitive team playing a game against a Big XII is going to be dropped. Whether they are from the BE, CUSA, MWC or WAC, probably they'll be dropped. I say, let's schedule a home and home with Army, UNT, La. Tech, Northwestern (we have lots of Chitown alums), or send a chill down UT's spine by scheduling a Jerry's World special home and home with LSU, Auburn or Alabama. Although Jerry probably doesn't want any SEC at his palace except the Hogs.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

That's possible, but KSU is dropping deals left and right to load up on FCS school. The bigger question is would you consider those schools "meaningful intersectional opponents"?

+1. Did you see how friendly the Bear fans became when it looked like that might happen this year?

if it's no longer a home and home, we should be getting a payday going down to Waco. A previous poster mentioned that the "paycheck" games only existed if there was not a home-and-home..i.e., a one-sided arrangement

If you do schedule Army and have a chance to go to West Point, by all means get there. It is one of the great college football settings in the country. Fans are gracious, and it's a wonderfully historical location. If you have a military connection, there is inexpensive billeting that can be reserved space-a 30 days in advance. One caveat, don't call it a "campus" as those assigned there will quickly remind you it is a "post." Great gameday experience.

Schedule Larry Coker's new group at UTSA. They are playing Arizona, Okla State and some others so why not us. If you have to give them a game here it would be in Alamodome so no rain/weather issues for our pass happy offense. Plus, helps recruiting down here with the Judsons, Smithson Valleys, etc. of the world.

I would look for any excuse to go to San Antonio if it means I can go to Chris Madrid's for a Macho Tostada Burger!!!

Ford Stadium Rule Number One - Keep Cool. Go run to the concession stand and buy yourself an ice-cold soft drink. If you are Mormon, we offer caffeine-free Sprite.
Serve no caffeine free drinks for the BYU game, home field advantage.
