Good one. I do have question, about BYU, one of our coaches once said that we couldn't get a kid that favored SMU that was offered by BYU because of pressure that would ultimately be put on him by the (JCLS) church. Would that constitute a recruiting violation? Someone would have had to contact him. Has a church ever been banned from recuiting?...ah maybe the MWC was on to something.

so which "some other team's coach" rival of SMU do you NOT LIKE?

when are you going to give our coaching staff at least some credit
for being 2-2 in September instead of praising everybody else?

I didn't see the play clock on that play so if it was clock management, then my apologies for that particular gripe.

No need to apologize. The TV was focused on him as he stood by the official and watched the clock run down before calling time out. He purposely ran off time before he called the time out. He did not want us to have a chance to score again. His going for it on 4th was to run the score up for "style points." This was pointed out by the announcers and I think they are correct. If I were one of the voters, the fact that he could not get a first down on an exhausted weaker defense would cause me to deduct "style points."

The Patterson door to door comments are silly. OMG we had a campaign to drive up interest. That kinda happens when....you know....win?

Ah this isn't re-inventing the wheel. That's what happens. You drum up interest. I thought the school did a great job promoting the game. And as the program grows this will continue to happen. That's y we have a marketing department.

And for the sake of history, the FW robots were doing the same thing getting their city behind it bc 10 years ago no one gave a flip about college football until Fran got there and convinced some folks it could work. They went on a grass roots campaign and now their mayor is turning the Trinity River purple. Well, how did that happen? Guess they have a marketing department too.

What the hell is this? When your football program succeeds all of support mechanisms come into place. Mr. Patterson needs to have a big glass of STHU.

I dont think we would have run a dive play if he wanted to run it up. He did the same against OSU and Baylor.

Great game atmosphere. Much for fun than prior years though a little nerve racking. I think his comments about the neighborhood drive are being twisted. He is actually praising the city and school for finally getting behind the program. This rivalry is going to get very salty in the next few years and it helps that GP and JJ are so opposite.

Glad you liked the atmosphere. Seemed like the was some friendly taunting between fans and everyone got along. Glad we got the rivalry going again.

Posters that get their panties in a wad because some trivial comment the head coach made make me laugh.

You having your head up an opposing coach's [deleted] is also quite comical. I love the fact that you have a coach that draws your ire.

It's no different when Texas fans get after Bob Stoops after what he might say or when A&M fans get after Mack Brown after what he might say.

That what comes with rivalries, sir! You not only go after the school, you go after the coach. There are no sacred cows as far as I'm concerned.

If you watch the game again, pay close attention to Gary's "sweat towel" girl. Watch her facial expressions as she has a close-up view of him running that towel all over his sweaty-self. The whole time knowing he is going to be handing that formerly dry towel back to her.

Great game SMU.. KP will get much better, he is still stiff since the three interceptions.. still over-thinking not reacting. So for the time being I will watch a few re-runs of Colt and the Dread Heads until JJ puts the Shoot all together again.

Mr Patterson is lucky his heart held up, he was freaked out of control most of the game. He could not keep his head set on due to profuse sweating while the true professional June Jones calmly led his team with the example of confidence and self control. I thought SMU won the Class as well as Style Points with the future recruits hands down.

As for TCU fourth down decisions, I believe they were based on ''fear of a block'' more than confidence in their offense... Margus totally intimidated their kicker on the first PAT when he was elbow level with the ball. The kicker wisely kicked to the left pole.

I believe the SMU team came away the winners... Go Mustangs.
