Would a Gopher return to Dallas?

Former Skyline product Troy Stoudermire was suspended by Minnesota coach Tim Brewster earlier this week for unknown reasons -- at least I haven't seen anything lately on what those were.

Stoudermire said on his Facebook page that he wants to go to a big-time place where he will be respected. I don't know if that means big-time BCS or if he would look at us. Minnesota officials have said he has not been released from his scholarship.

But if it comes to that and he wants to be close to home, he would be a fantastic addition. The kid can do it in all three phases. The Gophers used him on KOR, he was a WR and they played him the secondary. And he is fast. I think he's about 6-0, 200. The problem was that Brewster is such a dork, he and his staff couldn't identify on where to exactly play him and are wasting his ability.

sounds a bit worrisome, to me. with little being said, he was supposedly suspended for 'conduct detrimental to the team'. couple that with his FB posting about wanting to go somewhere else, and it makes you wonder if he was doing a college impersonation of Brandon Marshall. if that is what is going on, why not just transfer instead of becoming a disruption and then leaving?

regardless of any attitude issues, he is a junior who has played this year. he has to sit out a year if he transfers to a D1 program, but then what? does he only have 1 year left? maybe not a great prospect for a system that seems to require time to be integrated.

Shawnbrey McNeal played only one year here and that kinda worked out OK. I think he would have impact. But again, we have to wait and see what heppens.

Oh, and Dooby, the Gophers are providing me with another wheel's off performance. It's such a trainwreck up there. But hey, I get to go up there and see them play Ohio State Oct. 30. It'll be cool to see Pryor play in person.

Didn't Minnesota fire the last guy because he lost a big lead to Leach in a bowl game? I would be reconsidering that about now.

They're horrible. They've changed OCs and DCs in each of the last three seasons, so it's a mess. The AD is weak. I just want the thing to be total implosion so both Brewster and AD Joel Maturi are sent packing. The other thing that pisses me off is that Brewster is 0-6 against Iowa and Wisconsin.

Unacceptable.

Still, I'm excited about the trip because I love going up there. I believe It's the least I can do to honor my dad.

Minnesota has gone the longest of any Big Ten team since without a trip to the Rose Bowl. The Gophers' ast appearance in Pasadena came after the 1961 season. They haven't even won a share of the championship since 1967.

This was the latest in the Minneapolis paper. You never know. If he leaves and wants to come back, he would be a great fit here.

The Facebook post was deleted a few hours after it appeared, and the coach said "the story has changed."
"He wants very much to be part of our team," Brewster said. "He didn't say anything awful. He was frustrated."

Shawnbrey McNeal wasn't a troublemaker. This kid apparently is.

As a senior in HS, Stoudamire transferred from Seagoville, where he had already become a big name, to Skyline. It was very shady and doesn't show much loyalty.

He's obviously got some athletic gifts, but there's probably a reason the Big 12 schools let him get away to Minnesota. I doubt JJ wants to put up with him.
