Finally - I was 8 the last time this happened.

... the Mustangs beat the smart kids in Houston.

No offense to anyone who has played at Rice - and I highlighted this to a gentleman who played for Rice 15 years ago - that's the definition of poor stretch of football.

He says, "man, I played at Rice, and yeah - that's bad."

I knew in elementary school that I would never take one of his classes, I would go in and ask a simple math question and then he'd go in to a two hour lecture on advanced algebra, which he felt I should be able to master by the weekend.

Your Dad is awesome. I graduated in 89 and his class still sticks it out in my mind. It was like running the gauntlet, I think I squeaked by with a C, but it felt like an A.

Being that I was born just a year before the last time they won in Houston, I don't exactly remember every game SMU has played at Rice since 1986...however, I feel confident that the loss in 2006 was the most painful.

a win in that game and we might still have Phil Bennett as our HC.
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally

Was thinking that myself, Dutch. FWIW - Y'all are making me feel old; I was a senior for the 1986 game. We had a great team, but with the DP stuff ended up 6-5.
