Ex-Highland Park QB transfers to SMU
UNIVERSITY PARK - Alexander Webb, a former Highland Park star, has transferred from Northwestern to SMU. Webb, a 6-0, 195-pound quarterback, said he will attend summer school at SMU.

Webb, a sophomore, played in five games for Northwestern last season. He completed 16 of 33 passes for 205 yards, with no touchdowns and one interception.

Webb, 21, said the spread offense the Mustangs will use this season was similar to the one he played in while in high school and at Northwestern. He will probably receive two years of eligibility but is looking for an extra year from the NCAA. In the first game of his freshman season, Webb suffered a lacerated liver against TCU and missed the rest of the year. Webb was given a medical hardship.

Great pickup by the Mustangs. While the loss of Meeks hurt, this addition will more than make up for it and give us some added depth at QB. Webb's senior season at HP was unbelieveable.

So what are his biggest strengths and weaknesses as a QB?

(blah blah blah)

So he got an inch shorter between 2002 and 2003? He's a little young to be shrinking, isn't he?

and just to extrapolate, continuing with the loss of height...so the 40 time, is it really 4.8, and his weight a buck sixty-five?

So we have what .... five scholarship QBs now?
Does that mean we won't be recruiting one in February?

Yes, we have five - Phillips, Eckert, Romo, Nixon and Webb.
And no, I wouldn't think Webb's arrival guarantees we won't take a QB next year.
