Some positives from a TCU fan

Postby zephreck » Sun Oct 17, 2010 4:23 am

Have to say even though we are rivals that I have rooted for you guys this year. I know the game today was a tough loss and I am not here to rub salt in any wounds. Rather I wanted to say that you guys still have alot of football ahead of you and I really believe there is an excellent chance you guys can finish strong.

Looking over your final 5 games there are definitely some winnable games there and lets face it so far your only losses are out of conference losses. Today would have been a good quality win but nevertheless you guys should still be bowl elgible.

Looking at next few games:

Houston : Winnable game they have not been same since losing their starting QB to injury.

Tulane: Should easily win this game. Even on the road SMU is much better than Tulane this year.

UTEP: Decent team and you have to play them on the road, should be close but give me SMU over UTEP.

Marshall: Last home game for you guys, they are awful. SMU should win this game easily.

East Carolina: on the road and definitely one of the toughest games you will have left. But if you have won all of them up to this point it will be for bragging rights in the conference and it is not an unwinable game.

I think you will go 4 and 1 in your last 5 games. Even if you stumble against say UTEP and loose to East Carolina you still have a solid year and should easily be bowl elgible.

Anyway just wanted to wish you guys good luck on rest of your season and hoping that you guys finish strong.

zephreck you are correct 7 wins is do-able & 6 wins should not be a problem.
Either of those...is a million miles from where we were just two seasons ago.
June is still building...more & more fans understand that...some never will.
Glad to hear you root for us because I pull for the Frogs when they aren't playing SMU.
I pull for all the BCS Busters....gosh I wish you guys played Texas this year.
Good Luck!

Zephreck -

Thanks for the analysis. I project TCU to go 11-2 this year with your only losses being to Utah and to Cal in the MAACO Las Vegas Bowl.

I agree that Cal is horrid this year - the games against USC and Nevada have showed that.

I believe that the Frogs won't be up for the Cal game. They will be extremely bitter about getting shut out of the BCS - and that will impact their performance.
