Out of Conference Schedule

Postby The_RichAlum » Fri Nov 19, 2010 7:12 pm

I have been out of the loop on Men's b-ball, but I just looked at the out of conference schedule and it is absolutely pathetic.

How do we expect our team to improve if they don't even play against decent competition.....and by the way, I do expect us to drop some of these "cupcake" games.

These kids are only going to get better ahead of conference by playing against some solid programs. Not to mention, let's give fans a reason to attend the games and see some decent talent come through Moody.

Scheduling these schools serves no purpose from a monetary standpoint, team improvement standpoint, or positioning ourselves for any type of post-season.

Our basketball program is falling by the way side, but with all the focus on football it seems to go unnoticed.

Orsini and Coach Doherty should take 100% of the responsibility here. Dohert definitely needs to go and Orsini needs to be on the hot seat.

Have you seen our team?

If we played a decent OOC schedule we'd consistently lose by 30 points, and that does no one any good.

drive-by posts from guys who never post in the offseason, deserve tar & feather treatment. I'm about to take on the judge/jury & executioner role in this hizzie

drive by post -- yes, don't pay attention and then declare their opinion. Probably hasn't been to a game in years either.

Let me address these one at a time:

1) Yes, guilty as charged as far as not being a total loser and spending my time being a cyber-geek. Congrats on all your horseshoes Poindexter, you must feel good and proud.

2) No, I haven't been to a basketball game in years. I also don't live in Texas. Congrats on being well invested here. I make my money, you analyze sub-mediocre basketball.

3) We get blown out? That is what your are afraid of? Do you think that stops other schools from scheduling top talent? Presby playing K-State, Colgate playing Duke, etc......These kids should want to play against some of the best. It will only help them improve.

RichAlum..no offense but it would have better served to check out another thread about this same subject from the past months ( it would have been real easy to go back a little and you would have seen what all have already said)and bumped it to comment from that point. There have been many other posts about this topic over the past months, so a new thread is pretty tired is what they are saying.
