Congrats Zach Line

Postby Dutch » Sat Nov 20, 2010 7:51 pm

202 yards today.

i was worried about this position after the departure of McNeil. no more. and Line's a sophmore. with the youth we have coming up we should be set to really open up the passing game in the next few years.

congrats to June for having his second 1000 rusher in his career as a HC.
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally

Great job but 30 carries is too much.
We ran a ton today.

Normally yes, but we needed every one one of them today. We'll need around 30 carries from him next week as well.

He is simply a football player and can play anywhere he is needed. As I stated in earlier posts, Zach will be playing on Sundays someday and with two more years ahead of him, the Heisman doesn't sound out of reach any more. :D :D :D

I'm happy about it, just don't understand it. Seemed like every 1st down, it was a draw.
Will be nice when we have enough depth for 2 Rb's.

If June would get more creative with our running game we could use Fields (just not in normal sets because he can't block). I'm not holding my breath but I hope we see the Wildcat versus ECU. With Padron slumping and headed into the 2nd most hostile road environment he will face as a starter we can't depend on him to carry us.

with Zach just being a Soph, looks like we may have an opportunity to RS some RBs on the roster

I still don't understand the persistence of wanting to use Fields or two backs in this offense, especially when we are averaging more than 100 yards every game on the ground. The main priority for the running back in this offense is to block and right now, Zach is the only one that can become that extra lineman in the backfield.

Granted, having some reliable backups would be nice in case of an injury, but why mess with something that is working! If the opposition is giving us the run, then we will take it, if it isn't, then it is time to air things out. Enjoy the ride and believe me, this team will only get better which is scary when we already have players like Zach leading the way for the entire conference.

I most impressed that he is always looking for the extra yard and the next hole to hit.
